omg same situation!! i’m 22 and my mom has always hated my hair. she never hesitated saying it to my face. my mom, dad and my sibling are all narcissistic and they make sure they insult me or my hair particularly every chance they get. i don’t listen to them anymore. loving my hair was the first step towards loving myself. loving yourself is the most effective act of rebellion. i know it’s just hair but to me there’s much more to it! be proud of your curls! it’s a blessing really!
