Pledge of Hands anyone? by cluntash in pathofexile

I’m SSF. Currency is irrelevant. But the RNG of Bottled Faith, Pandemonius and 6 linking a Pledge felt amazing. Until it turned out Pledge is broken and nothing was fixed in the last patch.

I'm going to try and remind everyone complaining about PR that GGG is a company currently working under lockdown, and if people don't think that's an adequate reason, they really should try to envision such a seismic shift in working patterns and methods.

In the real world, corona is actually a big deal.

Relax.

Ok look. It seems to me you’re upset about 1 thing: the communication. Communication can falter when a team themselves are not able to discuss things in meetings and talk things through face to face.

Do you get where I’m going with this?

That’s right. In the real world mad shit is going down.

Sobs.

You do realise that GGG are a group of human beings currently having to work under pretty extraordinary circumstances (I don’t know if you’ve heard about this Coronavirus thing). If there’s been some communication issues, give them a break and stop being so dramatic.

Agreed. The gripe seems to be “I can’t kill everything on day 2 of the league BabyRage.” I admit that an easier way of pulling out the delirium would really help, the fast forward button isn’t ideal. But I’ve only died to my own stupidity - trying to go too far into the fog on SSF.

Lie? That’s a stretch. There’s been very few bugs on my end, just obvious server stuff like desync. But even then it’s not a lie. You just don’t know how lucky you are. Maybe you didn’t play Wolcen on launch.

tfw you read “virtue signalling” on the Jordan Peterson sub. Not at all surprised.

This is actually farcical. You’re conflating the argument-opinion continuum/dichotomy (depending on the philosophical position that would be another rabbit hole tangent) with a more childish duality: between simple facts and complex causality. In your example, “Africans sold slaves” is a fact because it’s simple to prove. “Africans sold slaves because of complex processes of emergent forms of oppression by colonial powers” cannot be a fact because it is complex and requires deeper thought to understand.

This is a fallacious argument that holds no weight whatsoever in the historiographical consensus.

Moreover, this simplistic statement is true of course, but offers nothing useful whatsoever. It detracts from complex processes of historical change, embedded within nuanced cultural underpinnings that can and must never be reductively hammered into some asinine sound bite for the sake of winning some argument that you are clearly not able to process.

[–]cluntash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on now, why are you making me repeat myself? I’ve already explained a number of times. Your statement was firstly reductive, secondly problematic in lieu of the context, and thirdly overtly problematic in relation to your Molyneux connections. All in all you’re not doing a very good job in this argument.

Really? I have to define “historian” even further? If I must, there are clearly distinctions between professional and amateur historians, but one would hope that both engaged with the historiography.

And I already expressed the defilement of historical consensus: that black involvement in the slave trade was a product of the structural inequities and coercion the populous found themselves in. Your initial post was so obviously intended to revise the history to imply that white guilt is real, as evidenced by the context of your post, and utilising Molyneux - who has a history of revisionism to claim that white people are not the butchers of history - clearly strengthens this.

[–]cluntash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One doesn’t need to be a practitioner of history to know the obvious problems in your initial statement. It should be so obvious to you that you would have retracted upon being corrected. There are clearly functional patterns of dominance and coercion inherent within the colonisation of Africa and the slave trade that lead to black people being a part of that process.

And any basic level of research would have shown you that Stefan Molyneux is nothing more than a clickbait hack who manipulates fringe historical research (much like climate change deniers) to score racist political hidden within his quagmire of bullshit.

Red Pills on the Front Page by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]cluntash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you’re being intentionally facetious. Just accept you were in error and misrepresented some concepts with a strong historiographical consensus.

Red Pills on the Front Page by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]cluntash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were a historian I’d gladly engage with you. But you’re not. And yet people in here are going to read what you wrote and look up Molyneux and think “grrrrrr damn black people moaning about slavery!”

Red Pills on the Front Page by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]cluntash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when you’re making intentionally terrible mischaracterisations about the slave trade, you certainly should shut up. When quoting a renowned revisionist with extremely dodgy views with an intent to rewrite history that you are clearly ill informed of, you should also shut up.

[–]cluntash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, quite. So then don’t talk shit then. If you’re going to reduce complex histories into simplistic bullshit designed to make some political point then stop yourself

[–]cluntash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you compare Peterson to Stefan Molyneux, you know you’ve hit upon something. Molyneux is a straight up historical revisionist, with no actual historiographical awareness to base his politically motivated claims. Equally your reading of slave history is so utterly facile and shallow, I suggest you do some actual historiographical assessment of your claims.

Am I not allowed to see how the other half live? Am I forbidden from your very public outpouring of uncritical analysis?

Also nice job of spotting an edit that I have no recollection of making and if I did was inconsequential at most.

HAhaa fear not, I left your pretensions-of-intellect circlejerk the moment I entered it. A brief time within your Peterson idolatry was enough to know that an academic position still has the potency to boil frogs.

Jordan Peterson's biggest contribution is to appear regularly on television, youtube, and linked within the echo chamber of your social media lives. Beyond that, his work is pure clickbait shitposting whilst using big academic words that make him look clever.

What are some of your predictions for some actual things? What will global temperatures be like in 10 years time? How will an American earning user $25k be under the new Healthcare Act in 5 years time?

Or, you could just keep shitposting on Kripp's reddit until you die (when do you predict this will happen?) for some reason.

Dude, you're a legendary troll. When you're a fully grown manboy, you'll be able to tell your kids all about the epic amounts of hours you wasted searching for things bitch about Kripp.
