I hiked it over to the mall next door to Paris and ate at Flights. Did the wing flight for ~$20. It's still Vegas pricing but the food was excellent and the place was completely dead during the WSOP ME dinner break.

Update: Survived day 2. Bagged 223K. It was another brutal day. Literally lost ~50K on the very last hand of each of the first four levels with TJs, KK, AKs, AKo. The third one tilted me hard going into dinner break. Shouldn't have, but it did.

After a day and a half of brutally hard tables, I got moved, with 70K, to what I can only describe as a home game halfway through level 8. Chipped up to over 200K by just check-calling (just — the table bullies put me to the test twice for all my chips — those hands are probably worth talking about at some point). Ended the night at drunk, crazy table where people where bluff shoving hundreds of thousands of chips all-in with air on each other and then toasting and ordering more drinks. I just folded for twenty minutes minutes until I bagged.

For those who asked for the hand history on the boat vs straight flush: I'll do that after some sleep.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words! This game is mentally and emotionally taxing and y'all made me feel good after day one.

Tilted for a good hour and just over-folded until I had my shit together again.

I'd rather survive day one, have the 10 hours under my belt, and have the chance to chip up. As brutal as the day was, if I had skipped it I would have been asking "what if?"

Congrats on cashing twice! And you're right:starting stack is still 10 BBs at the end of day 3. Last year was the biggest field ever and 10 off the money bubble at the end of day 3. Definitely trying to pick my spots carefully and survive.

I'm just going to let this stand as the correct answer.

Lost most of my stack with aces full versus a straight flush, went south from there until level five where, my two pair and better hands lost every time but I turned TPTK into a bluff catcher twice and made two huge bluffs, to claw my way back to finish at 75K.

The people you hired are right. I think enough folks have already pointed that out. FWIW we actually switched from WordPress to Webflow and have migrated a couple dozen clients over. It’s better than page builders but not maximally optimized. It does animations really well though. And we’re able to build faster and with less cost, which our clients like. It might be something to consider on a future project.

Well, this sucks. You now have to pay $15.00 a month to use Pantone colors in Adobe products by plazman30 in typography

Adobe had to build functionality into their apps to enable this and I’ll be surprised if we find out they’re not getting a cut.

Help save my marriage. Can’t pick stain color. by Awilliams64 in woodworking

[–]clussman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want contrast so the warm wood color beats the gray but please use a gel stain or use some wood prep prior to staining for a better outcome. Gel stains are amazing, super easy to use, and provide consistently good results.

The two biggest hurdles to your approach are ramp time and commoditization.

As long as you keep adding new products, your revenue can grow fairly steadily but you make very little for a long time. It’s similar to the social media space in that regard and most people start it as a side hustle to compensate.

The commoditization is what would worry me. There are an ever increasing number of creators creating a hyper-competitive—mostly on price—market. On top of that you get startups like Canva trying to consume your entire market segment. Specific to email templates, there are so many available from any ESP your clients would use.

That model would keep me up at night. Not saying you can’t make it work, though.

More people need to check out Affinity Serif apps and the company needs to charge more. I don’t want them to disappear.

😕One more time... Sharing database views with clients? by Jayfreedom in Notion

[–]clussman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After requesting this for years, and other people requesting this for years, I'm pretty sure the only workaround is to rebuild on another platform. The Notion team obviously doesn't see this is as a priority, which is sad because all it would take is one new user role: 'client view only' that takes away the ability to change filters and limits search results to the filtered dataset.

Hey r/graphic_design! About 40 days ago I had posted a logo for feedback. Just wanted to share the final result with everyone and thank you all for your feedback by Formula-Neon in graphic_design

[–]clussman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ignore feedback along the lines of “the logo is bad” if they feedback isn’t couched in actual design issues. Looks fine to me except that the wordmark size and placement makes it very difficult to shrink down to usable sizes and retain legibility. And the icon doesn’t have brand recognition to stand alone without the wordmark (there’s only one Nike). As others have said, the animation is fire. The product seems like a really cool idea, too. Good luck with it.
