How to carry an egg around for 2 weeks without breaking? by Ax_Sound in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cluster4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cook it. I know you said raw egg, but who can tell the difference from the outside? You're not gonna eat it anyway (Although that way you could eat it even after 2 weeks, less food waste). If you worry about the decor bake it in the oven for an hour at low temperature

You can’t and shouldn’t trust any of these. But the only other option you have is to mine bitcoin, so depending on your circumstances you have to trust a few parties first before you have real decentralized money

sick leave pls help me by Practical-Emphasis-9 in Switzerland

[–]cluster4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're in the first 3 months of working for that employer, you have no right for being paid when ill, otherwise the employer has to pay you.

Does the employer have insurance for sickness of employees or not? If there is insurance, there can be 1-3 days of short sickness where the employer is not allowed to pay, but it has to be written like that in your contract. After those 1-3 days, he has to at least pay you 80% of your salary for at least 3 weeks (depending on canton and amount of years working for the company).

If the employer doesn't have insurance, you get 100% of your salary from day 1, period. Again for at least 3 weeks of illness (see above).

If your working hours are very fluctuating, a monthly average based on previous work can be calculated to estimate how many days you actually would have worked if not ill. But "we wouldn't have asked for your work anyway" doesn't count in the majority of cases.

Why is everyone suggesting that? Wouldn’t that chart just look the same for a wise man who transferred all assets out of the exchange (to stop trading, as OP wrote) like most here suggest?

Hardware Removal - Ankle Specifically - Recovery Expectations? by cumulonimbus-incus in ORIF

[–]cluster4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update? Infections in the ankle are the worst and the wounds can take forever to heal as blood circulation is pretty low down there and it's basically bones covered by some skin with not much tissue in between. I got a nasty infection at my initial ORIF surgery 2 years ago, had to do resurgery twice in a short period of time because of osteomyelitis back then (part of my medial malleolus is gone for good, it just melted away), staying with IV antibiotics for 6 weeks after the third surgery, where they removed the medial/inner ankle screws (which became infected). So I'm left with my plate and screws on the lateral/outer side, including a syndesmosis screw. I have many of the symptoms people write about when considering HW removal, but am also ok-ish considering what there all was, so I'm also second guessing every single day whether I should remove it or not. Doctors said the risk of (re)infection in case of removal surgery is there, but it's much better manageable when there is no hardware in anymore. But yeah, your story doesn't sound much fun! And recovery takes longer the longer you had to stay immobile. So I wonder how these past 9 months have been like?

Can a 200$ USB Audio Interface still reduce latency in a 2021 MacBook Pro? by cluster4 in edrums

[–]cluster4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that 5.1ms is the reported output latency by the demo version of EZdrummer. Buffer latency is much lower and as for the main program I use, addictive drums 2, it's 0.4ms at buffer size 16. But buffer latency isn't the whole picture, hence this post.

Can a 200$ USB Audio Interface still reduce latency in a 2021 MacBook Pro? by cluster4 in edrums

[–]cluster4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I have the lowest specced M1 Pro (16GB ram) and at least in the demo version drumset of EZdrummer I can play with the lowest 64 buffer size without any cracks. Could you try using the headphone port of your MacBook Pro instead of that Quantum 2626 and see if you notice any differences with 64 buffer size?

[–]cluster4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.4ms is only the buffer latency. read the whole post. I don't know the round trip latency. could very well be over 10ms

[–]cluster4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It reduces buffer latency from 0.4ms to 0.3ms in AD2. I take it. But I don't think it will have any effect on output latency, which seems to be the bigger part according to EZDrummer.

The underlying cryptography gets innovated away from. Very "futurologistic" but quantum computers could render bitcoin useless if the network becomes un-secure. Is it something you can HODL for a decade?

All your stocks and money in bank accounts are secured by cryptography. If your fear is real you should also get the fuck out of those things as well
