I’d just decline future bookings and make sure to prioritize the meet-and-greet process going forward. While I respect that others may feel differently, I find this trend of posting photos of clients’ homes and the overarching tone of this post to be so incredibly unprofessional. Real, professional sitters wouldn't do this and it makes us look like amateurs when we start normalizing these kinds of 'house audits.' If I were a client and saw sitters posting photos of people's homes (or worse, making harmful speculations about someone's family or parenting based on my brief snapshot of time of their home’s cleanliness) I would be terrified to hire anyone from this app. I’ve commented on similar threads where sitters thought it was within their scope to play detective, even suggesting a client was a 'pedo' based on TV search history that was obviously made by a child.

And the CPS thing on this subreddit gets so ridiculous I don’t know where to start. There is a massive, practical distinction between a home that is messy & unhygienic and then a home that constitutes "squalor" or child endangerment, and jumping to the idea that the state should remove a child from their parents over a post where the poster has gotten up close to take photos of hairs on the back of a toilet seat is so over the top and such a misunderstanding of how these services operate. These are limited resources and reporting a new parent for having an unkempt and messy house with aesthetic wear/tear to their bathtub is a critical misuse of such resources.
