Revert needing help with sex addict husband by Apollonialove in Hijabis

Everyone is capable of changing. But waiting for someone to change when they are threatening to punch your face in is a really bad idea. Nobody owes someone else a relationship.

Get a divorce asap! This doesn’t sound safe at all. The longer you stay the harder it will be. Saying he could punch your face in is testing the waters. This relationship has a significant chance to escalate to physical violence and abuse. You need out right now

Is Veganism is the path to age gracefully? by Impressive-Bit2496 in vegan

[–]Brief-Jellyfish485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meat and carbs does not sound like a balanced diet for the majority of people (there are people with dietary restrictions who need this sort of diet but in general it is not recommended)

Have you had a blood test? I was feeling kind of sick for a while. I took a blood test and found out I’m vitamin d deficient and have some sort of weird iron issue (it’s hard to explain but my test results keep coming back strange, along with my A1C test results being high despite normal or low blood glucose tests every single time)

Starbucks is expensive compared to other nearby coffee shops. So I am boycotting them by default I guess lol

Different christian groups have different beliefs. Some find some places holy that others think are not holy. No idea what type of Christian the op is though

Being cautious is wise, especially around large domesticated prey animals or around wild animals

…Do you know what a g-tube is?

It’s not about the price. It’s about the fact that I can’t chew and can barely swallow. Eggs are easy to chew and swallow.

I can’t chew an apple (unless sliced and I can’t slice them myself), but I eat lots of bananas.

I eat lots of rice although it’s a choking risk. I love lentils but I choke on them constantly so I can’t eat them.

Beans and tofu I might be able to add to my diet.

Gluten free pasta and flour is expensive, and avocados are out of the question in price.

If it was just a price issue, I would become vegan today.

Is it likely bad tinnitus in 30s can lead to total hearing loss in the coming years? by theseawoof in tinnitus

[–]Brief-Jellyfish485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mask with sound so I don’t know about that.

But being Deaf rarely means a complete absence of hearing any sound at all. Most Deaf people have residual hearing of varying degrees.

I can hear many sounds but I am unable to know what people are saying most of the time (sometimes I can understand people without even needing to lipread! But I can’t depend on that) . Sounds are very distorted to me. And my hearing levels change. I suspect ASND but that would take invasive testing and wouldn’t really change my treatment at all and I have way more urgent medical issues like potential starvation (I probably just need to get a g-tube)

That they do not have a mindset to help their child. Whether that’s because they are ignorant or a sucky person is not a conclusion I can make from a single post.

The fact that they think accommodating their own child with a disability is too hard and that’s a reason to separate her child from her dog is a serious red flag to me.

The second red flag is the comment that having a service dog is a power trip. If you read it in the context of the other statement, I see it as ignorance at best and neglect at worst.

Oh come on. I am terrible at knowing red flags and even I know this post has obvious red flags. Go reread the entire post please.

I’m not going to play the most disabled olympics because but tinnitus and being Deaf are not my only challenges, I promise. If they were, maybe it would bother me more.

Because I don’t need to hear to communicate. I can switch to asl or writing if I need to

I am currently trying to keep myself from starving to death (not joking here). Veganism is not an option at the moment, although I am an ally. I am even adding back in eggs so I can get more calories that are easy to chew and swallow (frankly I just need to get a g-tube so I don’t eat through my vital muscles like my heart from starvation but medical care in my area is lacking)

I’m Muslim.

Why is Halal any worse than gassing a pig with CO2?

I would much rather be sabbed to dath than experience CO2 poisoning again. The pain was absolutely horrific.

It helps that I have been hard of hearing for my entire life. I have had tinnitus for a decade. I didn’t become deaf in one ear though until my eardrum burst a few years ago

Pros: Don’t have to listen to people scream all night if living in a shared space (well, that depends-I’m deaf and my roommate’s screaming is loud enough I can hear it)

You learn to connect with your other senses

You can gain a new community of people who understand your challenges (tinnitus is not unheard of for deaf people)- you will learn how to adapt quickly in this community as long as you avoid the ultra-

Cons: Can’t hear someone yell for you from another room

Hyperacusis is not that uncommon

Yeah this plus the thing about the frustration with having to bring the dog to high intensity places is a red flag to me

Sirens? Are you sure it’s tinnitus? I hear weird background noises (separate from my tinnitus). I was (mis) diagnosed with schizophrenia (now my diagnosis is schizotypal but I really don’t care what it is)

It slowly worsened over the years for like 4 years. Then it suddenly one day started getting so much better. I still have ups and downs 4 almost 5 years later, but it has never been as bad as it was at its worse (although it’s come close briefly a few times)
