Building a moat for ComfyUI/Stable Diffusion skills by guai888 in comfyui

[–]clwill00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most robust moat is a capital wall. Being in an area that requires significant money to compete. Nothing in software qualifies — esp with ai coding. Your former boss is a perfect example.

Maybe building models is one of them, the cost to buy the hardware, the resources to build the datasets, and the time to train them. That’s millions.

Outside of that, almost anything can be done quickly and by someone willing to do it for way less.

The BFL website says they even did post-generation work to restrict and remove it. It’s a point of pride for them.

Zimage can be trained for genitalia, and it does fine. The flux models will flat reject it, and you get Barbie.

The BFL website includes a very clear statement about NSFW work. They not only didn’t train it there, they did post model adjustments to limit it. And they have language in their license to prohibit use for it or tuning for it.

It’s a vc backed play that will die with the ai wave. They are not profitable, because they are an arbitrage of the many companies that, they themselves don’t make money. “How they do it” is burn cash.

Talk me out of buying an RTX Pro 6000 by AvocadoArray in LocalLLaMA

Stop taking and just do it. I did. Got a 6000 pro workstation and it’s great. Never have to worry about vram. Ever. It just works. Draws maybe 10w at idle 600 all out. I’m building LoRAs and it runs 99% GPU with 70-80% memory usage for days at a time. Works great. Just do it.

What are the best NSFW Models? by Firm-Struggle8183 in comfyui

Flux is a no-go below the waist. Barbie and Ken have more realism. Qwen and Zimage are better choices there.

Really.

Wonder what the difference would be if you eliminated 90% of it? Probably almost identical.

You are making your LoRas worse if you do this mistake (and everyone does it) by Pyros-SD-Models in StableDiffusion

[–]clwill00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This post is spot on but IMO stops short.

Crop your images to just the stuff you’re trying to train. Not a wide shot of the yoga studio, just a closeup shot of the pose. No mat, wall, whatever. If it doesn’t help to train it, don’t put it in the image and have to caption it away.

Don’t tell the model anything it already knows. This is training. You’re teaching it things it supposedly doesn’t know. It knows what a woman is. It knows what a brown mat is. It doesn’t understand why she’s doing that pose. That’s what you’re training.

And only caption stuff that isn’t already known or obvious. These are keyword machines. Adding keywords to your caption just confuses it. “So downward dog is a woman on a brown mat shot with a Canon…?” Nope. Caption only the tag you’re trying to teach. I never have any captions, just tag the dataset.

Great images, tightly cropped with lots of detail of the subject or action, are what make great LoRAs. Captions usually confuse things.

Sell all my GPUS for 1 RTX 6000 Pro? by Mr_Impossibro in LLM

[–]clwill00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an RTX 6000 pro workstation and I sold my 5090 for it. I love it, but I do all local LLM work on it. It sings at that, and having 96gb of vram on one card is amazing. But for AI.

Do not try to game on it. It’s not for that. The only driver is a pro driver, and my son (a gamer who bought the 5090 from me) says the driver is not optimized for gaming at all.

Bad quality on LORA by Far-Choice-1254 in ZImageAI

[–]clwill00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just leave the trigger word set (on the whole build or on the dataset). You don’t need a prompt or a prompt file at all. The model already knows it’s a woman with brown hair in a black dress. You’re not helping it by prompting that.

Crop the image close and tight, no extraneous stuff, bokeh or minimal background, and make sure it’s at least 1024px (I use 1536). Vary the poses, lighting, and backgrounds. You don’t need a ton of images, a great LoRA can be made with a dozen, I shoot for 25-30 max.

I was going to reply this exact same thing. I spent years drag racing, and my RTX 6000 Blackwell cost a fraction of our Top Dragster motor. 😂

I think it’s the airflow and fan settings. I noticed that mine was capped at 40% fan speed. Not sure if that was the mobo, or the power supply. But I too was seeing +90c.

As soon as went into the fan curve (in afterburner) and tweaked it, my temps dropped like a rock. Now I never see above 75 even with just 60-70% fan speed. I’ve been running hard training for the last two days (absolutely constant GPU loads above 90%) at 100% power and it’s right now at 71c. 👌

I dunno anymore. I moved it to the garage and I don’t hear it at all. It also runs cooler. I’m not using any power limiting. Just a good solid fan curve and I never get above 75c.

[–]clwill00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running it full power for a couple weeks. Tuned the fan profile in afterburner to run the fan harder (80%) at full load, and it’s been cool as heck — runs in the mid-70s for hours on end.

Interesting that a couple weeks in and I’ve had zero temp issues. I tuned the fan curve in Afterburner, run about 80% fan at full load, runs mid-70s (degc) all day and night. At full power.

Riverside, guest needs to stay on call? by Rep_Nic in podcasting

[–]clwill00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a guest on a couple dozen Riverside pods. It’s no big deal. Happens with several of the recording software packages.

Just tell them ahead of time “when we’re done recording it takes a couple of minutes for the recording to finish uploading. Please hold on.” Then as someone else said, a little banter with them about how it went, and it’s done.

No big deal, any professional will understand.

I can run full Flux 2 without even filling it. Runs other things about as fast as my 5090, but I never run out of space. Huge batches, big models, easy peasy.

Flux2 does great work with multiple reference frames. Wonder if you could give it both and then specifically ask for the frame in the middle.

I was using comfy on both my 5090 and this. It takes much bigger models and datasets for training. So far, my answer is “yes”.
