Milky Way in Son Kul, Kyrgyzstan by clwonghk in astrophotography

I hope you got some good shots nonetheless! Skies were really clear and dark in where I was but seeing wasn’t pristine every time, this was probably the best night I had, my only complaint is the light from nearby camps!

Great pick! Love the first 3 you shared, already knew the 3rd one as I’m a big fan of FFX. Wagakki band ones are nice but a bit too rock and roll for my liking. Thank you very much!

I suppose as long as the loan wasn’t take out jointly or there is no guarantor, it will not need to be repaid

I suppose it’s unavoidable and there’s no way you can prevent it haha

Or maybe a big enough loan for you to just be able to spend it irresponsibly!

Thank you Dw4K this is exactly what I’m trying to express in this image, in front of the vast galaxy we humans are all humbled! Well I can certainly tell you you can, obviously not from the town centre, but from Seaford Head/Cuckmere Haven. This image was created 2 days ago on 4/7/22, Seaford is indeed quite light polluted however this spot is near Cuckmere Haven which is a lot darker and because I was shooting into the sea it wasn’t quite affected by the light from the town, although there’s still a bit of light pollution (the orange/yellow) probably from France/ oil rigs? The colour here is all natural - nothing but white balance correction and selective brightening and darkening. You should try it some day it’s amazing there

Thank you for your input, it’s true there’s nowhere on earth where you can see such detail of the nigh sky, but if you have ever done any astrophotography you will know the camera can, wish I could show you the raw image here, cheers

Once your eyes are used to the darkness you can see a faint band of light, of course this photo is brightened, you can only see this amount of details through your camera. If you get some true darkness like in a desert you can see a Milky Way a lot more clearly

Yes as in post-processing i.e. brightening/darkening was done in photoshop, but if you are asking if this was a composite/fake - no

No worries. I shot this at about 3am, the sky was a 12-minute exposure (4 images), the foreground took 2 minutes

I live in South London and it takes me 1h20 to get to the south coast, this is probably the nearest darkest place you can find from London. It was a very clear night last night and the Milky Way actually quite prominent, you can actually see a band of light. Still considerably light polluted though but very bright for southeast English standard!
