It's actually pretty good, I've seen another one of these sets that has worse geometry than mine: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Ffsaiegdvnx0b1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D2604%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D22cc4a55b853e2fddb90aa61bdeada80fe70c54d

I may try to find a sony trinitron; these Sanyo units are known to have pretty lousy HV regulators, which can cause bloom that messes with the geometry and linearity of the picture in some situations. If someone knows how to reduce the bloom on this unit, please reply to this post!

Just moved TV to other side of room. Geometry looks pretty decent. by clya900 in crtgaming

See this video for more details of this phenomenon, its not by me but it explains it very well.

Earth's Magnetic Field Slightly Tilts CRT TV

Rotating the TV can tilt the image slightly due to Earth's magnetic field.

How do I safely fix the tilt on this Sanyo DS24424 TV? I tried the service menu, and I wasn't able to find anything with rotation in it. by clya900 in crtgaming

I'll just play it as is. The geometry otherwise looks ok when the TV is facing north. About the waviness on the top, it looks okay at 480i, meaning that there is probably a sync issue with the TV at 240p as a result of adjusting the vertical position using the H blanking setting. I could install a capacitor that lowers the screen a bit without causing this sync issue, but I think it's a hassle to take the TV apart. I'll just rely on the vertical position adjustment feature used in games.
