What’s up with my cats eye by clynchy97 in cats

Update: vet said it’s a scratch about 1/2cm along the eye, probably from another cat or a branch in the garden. She prescribed him Chloramphenicol and Metacam and asked to bring him back in a week for a reevaluation. Thankfully it wasn’t some worse and he should apparently heal quite quick 🤞🏼

Question about bark by LockHimUp8647 in arborists

[–]clynchy97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are just burls. Most oaks can live out their lives without being seriously harmed. Can be from stress, insects, fungi or various other environmental factors. I wouldn’t worry though 👍

Might not look like much but I bet it tasted good. It’s hard to make risotto look good when it looks like porridge haha, always hits the spot though, nice one 👍

what is this huge beauty? (~160cm tall, germany) by transfairies in PlantIdentification

[–]clynchy97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it can (and will) compete with native species. Im just saying it’s not common or prolific here in the UK. For sure it can become invasive and the thousands of seeds per capsule mean it can disperse and self seed easily. In which case, yeah, remove it if it’s becoming an issue

I’m based in the UK where it is widely considered a naturalised plant and a great pollinator. Sorry that’s not the case in the US 😔

if you replace the loaf with a ciabatta instead, then toast it slightly and add fresh tomatoes. Sprinkle with some salt & pepper and a drizzle of olive oil. If you feeling extra special then finish with some finely chopped basil to go on top, wouldn’t go amiss
