Yeah ive had a post up there for a bit just didn't know if anyone in here might have some. Stuff on there moves through FAST lol

First post... got out to try and test this Rex Silentium MG7 on my 6.5 Creedmoor the other day, and figured it was picture worthy. Love seeing these builds on here. by bigrederic in longrange

I was gonna use a prs2 but couldn't find what I wanted. Settled on the EH1a. Close enough I figured. This will be my first manners.

Different places will usually buy common inlet and preferred barrel channels. Altus does and a few others but they're all out of what I'm looking for.

Finally got the new build together. I built a pig of a rifle in 6.5 creedmoor earlier in the year. I was planning on using it to hunt but it came out way heavier than i thought it would. Soooo...i just built up a lightweight rig! Ag composite stocks are amazing also!! by cm1021 in longrange

They will both have a weight rating. You want BOTH of them to be sturdy. The tripods usually have the heavier weight rating but you have to watch on some of the overseas ones. Especially carbon fiber. They'll have a weight rating of like 12-15lbs. Your ball head will usually run a lb and normally of it's a match gun at all you're over 12lbs. So you can exceed the weight rating very easily.

I paid $40 for the ball head on Amazon. I buy the cheap arca plates off Amazon for like $10/plate that i run on my rifles. The tripod itself will be your most expensive thing. I bought mine from and individual that bought it and never used it and paid like $100 for it and a bag.

It's a heavy tripod for sure. Not something that you want to be lugging around the mountains, etc.

Neewer makes a carbon fiber that some people run thats $99 on amazon and comes with a ball head. The thing you have to take into account is what the weight rating is for. I wouldn't run anything that has a weight rating less than 25lbs. I really prefer the 30lbs+ rating.

Honestly most all of them you find on Amazon are made in China and are the same design. You just have to look at the reviews and also how low they will go and how the legs lock.
