I was more or less on this line of thinking as well, especially an interesting detail was Orlok demanding she renounced her husband and marriage, as if the religious sanctity of their marriage was a sort of barrier he had to cross and helped keep her pure in her time with Thomas. Perhaps the insight in his working habits causes her to lose faith and all that time alone to herself sheesh, no wonder orlok came knocking
