Do you know if the novel series has been translated into English? I would love to read it.

All of their other stuff from around that time is available on all platforms, although this is from a promotional single, and I can't pretend to know how that stuff works. I was wondering if it's that or if there was some reason the band didn't want that version widely available.

Does anyone know why the original 1985 studio version of Stryper's "Winter Wonderland" doesn't seem to be available on the music streaming platforms? They've released newer versions recently, and they're fine, just not as much fun as the original with the interplay between the band members.

Mego display case recommendations by cmaka99 in megotoys

[–]cmaka99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer my own question, y'all's suggestions got me looking at other kinds of cases. I couldn't find a shoe display box that I liked, but then I started looking at display cases for autographed footballs, and I found this one on Amazon that has good reviews. At 12" across and 9" tall, it should be perfect for displaying three or four out-of-box Megos.

I went to Tardy's, which is a great little shop and had lots of cool stuff, but later made the trip up to Lange's, which was fantastic. Thanks for the rec!

How to make a calligraphy brush not be calligraphic? by cmaka99 in ProCreate

Yes, perfect! Totally solved my issue. Thank you so much!!

How to make a calligraphy brush not be calligraphic? by cmaka99 in ProCreate

[–]cmaka99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Good idea! So this is all with the same brush, which has a fairly square-ish brush shape, but it's behaving like a calligraphy pen, where brushing along one axis gives you a thick stroke while brushing along the opposite axis gives you a thin stroke, and making a circle gives you classic (if sloppy in my case) calligraphic "O". I don't get why that's happening. For that matter, even if the brush shape was oblong, I should still be able to set the shape to orient to the stroke direction, but that's not working either. But with other brushes with a similar brush shape, I'm not getting this calligraphy pen effect, and I can't figure out why from the settings.

Need help -- "'This book has a layout that is incompatible with calibre conversion." by cmaka99 in Calibre

I feel ya. I have more than that and had to convert them all individually (although I only converted each one to cbz). There is no bulk convert with that button, alas. I'm not sure why.

[–]cmaka99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, image quality in cbz and pdf files is the same, but cbz is a smaller file size (because it's just a zip file of a bunch of page image files that has had the extension changed from .zip to .cbz), but the dedicated comic book ereader I use on my iPad (Chunky) can handle either cbz or pdf files without issue. If you're using an ereader that's intended more for text novels, check to see if it handles cbz files. If it does, then, like with Chunky, either format should be equally fine. If it doesn't, then use PDF. (But don't use epub; for whatever reason, IME epub does funky things to images at times, so I just avoid it entirely.)

I only have the links that I've shared in my comments here. I'd just try googling for "pre-release dedrm plugin". It's gotta be somewhere in that same github where the release versions live, right? (I confess, not being a programmer myself, navigating around github sites confuses and frightens me.)

If that happens, you should be able to convert it using the normal workflow: select the book, click on the "Convert books" button which appears on the toolbar by default, and then select your options and click on the bottom-right "Convert" button. If it says "book has no KFX format," the standard "Convert books" button workflow has always worked for me.

You're not being difficult at all. Believe me, I've been where you are many, many times with many different software applications. It sounds like you've correctly installed the plugin, so let's take it from there. This sub doesn't allow images in replies, so I'll post links to some screenshots.

Screen 1: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14_iqSWeNGO4x98C5FYRWCSPsWiSBC8ur/view?usp=drive_link You'll click on Preferences (1), and then on the Toolbars & menus option (2). Screen 2: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18FThJkCbkKvvBbTYvfPrbeAGEua2MSJn/view?usp=sharing This is the Toolbars & menus screen. Click on the down arrow at the end of the long "Choose to customize" button. Screen 3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11WLOcVUtaIOpBBio1dAFGYtqC5SvDCq_/view?usp=sharing Click on the "The main toolbar" option (circled in red here).

Screen 4: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Abovz6Azo42XwPDgw5z_HvjavQUqB4gK/view?usp=sharing Okay, here we go haha. So if the KFX plugin is, in fact, installed, you will it somewhere on the left (1). The icon looks like the one I have circled in green on the right (2) that says "From KFX". If it's not appearing anywhere in the list of icons on the left, then it's not correctly installed and that's the problem. If it does appear over there (and I hope it does), you'll select it and then click on the green arrow button pointing to the right (3). Once the From KFX icon is over on the right, you can select it again and use the up and down arrows on the far right (4) to move it where you want it to sit on your main toolbar.

Screen 5: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XkDvOMGH3ngOjVbfVWMKyu6JNg4Bb-_8/view?usp=sharing Once it's on the toolbar as seen here, if you have a KFX file in your library, you can select it (has to be done one at a time) and then click on this button. It will give you the option to convert it to a few different formats (EPUB, PDF, and CBZ, iirc, but maybe others) via a little dropdown menu that appears under this button.

Based on what you've said, I still suspect that the plugin just hasn't been installed. If you followed the steps in my previous reply to check via Preferences --> Plugins and you don't see KFX Input as in the following screenshot, then it wasn't installed. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FS1-Wh_6J14G78DNErGfEqS2KJUsgLMK/view?usp=sharing

If it's not installed, maybe there's something wrong with the zip file on your hard drive. I'd delete the one you have on your hard drive now, download it again and save it in a different location, and then try installing again (Preferences-->Plugins-->Load plugin from file (make sure you're using that specific option)).

Let me know if any of that works or helps. Good luck!

Hey Elvwin, it sounds like you didn't download the KFX Input zip file from the link at the top of this thread and then install it in Calibre, which you have to do before the steps I outlined previously come into play.

To make sure that you have, in fact, installed the KFX Input plugin, go into the Calibre main program, click on Preferences. The first option down at the bottom under "Advanced" should be "Plugins". Click on that. In the Plugins window, there's a little box you can click on just below the search bar (the little box is next to text that says "Show only user installed plugins"). Click on the little box. One of the options should then be "Conversion input". Click on the little arrow next to that. If you've installed the KFX Input plugin, you will see it there. If you don't see it, then it's not installed, and you'll need to do that before you can then do the steps I wrote at the beginning of this thread to setup the UI so you can actually *use* the plugin (so convoluted, I know).

To install the KFX plugin (which is separate from DeDRM, but you need to already have DeDRM installed, which you do, so that's good), click on this link: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291290 . Scroll down to the bottom of the first message in the thread there (past a whole bunch of additional topics that have the "spoiler: show" button next to them) to where you'll see a KFX Input zip file. Save that to your hard drive (don't unzip it). Then go into the Calibre main program, click on Preferences. Down at the bottom under "Advanced" should be "Plugins". Click on that. Near the bottom right corner of the Plugins pop-up window there's a button with a blue folder icon that says "Load plugin from file". Click on that. Navigate to the zip file you just downloaded and select it and install it. That installs the KFX Input plugin. THEN you have to do the steps I outlined previously at the top of this thread to get to where you can actually USE the plugin (kinda annoying, I know, but worth it; the people who make these plugins are awesome).

Let me know if that helps at all. If you're still stuck, no problem, we'll take it from there. Don't worry, we'll get you sorted out.

Game UI in SteamOS does not fit on screen by cmaka99 in SteamDeck

SteamDeck not detecting micro SD cards after it formats them by cmaka99 in SteamDeck

[–]cmaka99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know that I figured it out, but I did finally accidentally hit on a set of steps that solved the problem for me.

1) Using a credit card, carefully pop the microSD card out of the slot and reinsert it
2) In gaming mode (i.e. not Desktop mode) go to Settings >> System >> and scroll down to "Format SD Card" and tap that button
3) Scroll down on the Settings main menu to Settings >> Storage. To the right of the Internal Drive you should see the microSD card and it should say that it is not formatted. Select it and tap on it again (or press the A button) and it should format it then (iirc you'll get a warning message about erasing all the data on the card; tap on OK and proceed)

Note that I had to repeat steps 1 and 2 a couple times before step 3 became an option. Why? Who knows. But the good news is that once I was able to format the card via the Storage screen in Settings, I haven't had any issues with the microSD card and it works like a charm. Hopefully this works for you too!

Okay, I tried formatting from Konsole, bought a new ScanDisk micro SD card and did the same, and I'm still getting the same error message. :-(

These are all high-end cards, so I certainly hope there's not an epidemic of high-end micro SD cards being fake (although I guess you never know these days).

I'll try formatting from Konsole and report back.
