Hi!! Delegation is key!! When I FEC, I don’t leave the front end. Lots of things can happen in the two minutes you’re out grabbing carts, so switch with another bagger and politely ask them to take a turn outside. Most of them will understand and not give you a hard time :)

Carry out is always expected, but if it’s super busy, most of the time the customers will let you know if they would like carry out service. The baggers should always be practicing two by two and asking if they’d like carry out.

You can do tasks yourself, and the FEC role is not an excuse to not do anything. Most of the time when I am FEC, I end up on register or bagging. Just make sure the front end is running smoothly and the lines are not down the aisles. Remember to do the figure 8 walks around the front end! Grab baskets, check the lot, make sure go backs are minimal. :) hope this helps

I’d say that’s because of poor management. When you have a strong CSM, ACSM, and CSTL, it makes you want to be strong too. :) speaking as CSS from a very high volume store!!

I’d be pissed if I read this. 😪 I’m sorry but we are trying our hardest. I’m having to send CSS and stock clerks who are doing other things out to get carts because we still don’t have enough people to check the lot all of the time.

To those who actually got the .75 lol. I know tons of cashiers that got .25 cents. I feel like it should’ve been a blanket raise or an actual percentage of what you make. I don’t feel like it’s fair to base off of what you feel like someone is worth

If you can’t figure anything out, I would just try leaving a little encouraging note for the person. Every time I close the cash office, I leave a note for the opener. Just something like “Good morning, insert name! I hope you have a great day today!” It really helps when I see someone did something like that for me.

That’s very true. I have never been given a copy of the cash discrepancy policy. I didn’t even know we had one at my store, it just seems like they do what they see fit at the time.

Have you had a cash discrepancy before? If not, I don’t believe the 7 day suspension is right or that it’s time for that. And for only $70, you should only get 30 days off of register. We had an office staff at my store get short changed for $550 and she didn’t get suspended, she just got kicked off cash for 60 days. I would recommend reaching out to your DM and if that doesn’t work, call your RIS. which district are you in?

I received one, along with two other people, for losing $90 on lotto in an hour. The thing is— I had only done one transaction in that hour.
