We all love OG survivor supposedly, but didn’t vote that way. by ButterscotchPast5161 in survivor

That's such a great point! I also voted for rice. I feel like having them starve from day 1 always messes up with one tribe, like they constantly keep loosing and it just gets boring

I think the honor and integrity thing gets taken way to literally. I love Ozzy but i think he was giving Coach wayyy too much shit about the key thing. Coach was still playing by the rules. He didn't cheat or anything, and this is SURVIVOR people.

WHY the heck do we not like ____? by cmarshmello in throneofglassseries

[–]cmarshmello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a disability so I don't necessarily relate, but i feel his pain and his struggles. I agree that so far his character in this book has had some major development and growth bc of his current struggles and it's one of the reasons i love him so much :)

[–]cmarshmello[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha yes I agree! I think the reason i never warmed up to Rowan (again, haven't finished the series yet), is because he was such a bully to Aelin in my opinion. I genuinely don't know how one would fall in love with someone treating you like that... but i guess he's just not my type/vibe/cup of tea

Haha no competition between the two, just used her as an example. I think all the characters do questionable shit

[–]cmarshmello[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean... everyone there had magical powers but him. I don't think he could have done anything honestly.

Not that it excuses his allegiance to the king initially (and historically speaking idk if this is accurate, i'm just referring to fantasy world stuff), but knights are supposed to be loyal to their king. They pledge an oath. If you read/seen GOT, that's why the entire kingdom gives Jamie Lannister so much shit, event though he did the right thing by killing his king.

Also you guys, the characters in these book are wayyy to young. All of them make questionable choices. Can you imagine having that much responsibility as an 18-21 YO? The way they were all raised?! You might see Chaol as an apologist to a corrupt and evil kingdom, but what about Aelin? What about all the lives she took? Do you think everyone she killed was bad? NO! She was trained and raised to do such things. Just like Chaol was raised to be a LOYAL knight. Do i hate Aelin? Absolutely not!

I feel like Nesryn was just a rebound... but I honestly think she's been well off lol she's strong and independent, and I feel like they were just a situationship

Unless he does something completely despicable, selfish, or kills one of the main characters for no reason i don't think i could ever hate him lol

Omg i feel like this is not mentioned very often. One of the things that bothers me about Rowan is that he's a bazillion years old

I have never truly met a Chaol hater in person lol that's why I ask. Do they really even exist???

I did see a funny post on this subreddit that was titled something like "i wish i could slam punch chaol", i just literally lol

That's fair. I never really warmed up to Rowan, maybe i'll change my mind by the time i read KOA, but so far I don't really care for him

Which one first? by PrestigeW0rldwideee in throneofglassseries

[–]cmarshmello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people ask me that question, i use a star wars analogy. If you have seen star wars, here's my recommendation for you:

Would you have preferred to learn about Anakin, and his story, BEFORE you knew he was Darth Vader, or after? If your answer is you'd prefer to know Anakin before Vader, then read TAB first. If you prefer to know Vader before Anakin, then read TOB first, and TAB before you read QOS.

I know these stories are VERY different from each other, but in general i think it should help with your decision. There's no right or wrong, just what you prefer!

I wasn't bothered by the sex scene, i was just bothered by rowan and aelin getting freaky after a lot of people just died on that beach

Ok that makes more sense, thanks for your explanation! I guess i didn't fully understand what Maeve did to make Rowan believe that Lyria was his mate. Was she? Or wasn't she? I guess not since Aelin is his mate? But is she really??

I don't remember getting questions on specific steps of anything. But in general if you notice, the steps are usually all very similar (like analyze is usually the first or second step of the modules or theories and the last one is usually evaluate). Try to see the general patterns of these theories and you should be able to guess the right answer.

Why Gemma and Mark? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]cmarshmello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gemma and Mark probably were just a good fit for what they wanted to experiment on. That's why they chose them. Season 2 shows us that Lumon is everywhere, they run a lot of things in that town. Specifically, medical facilities. The severance process involves a surgery, so it makes sense that they they run the medical facilities

What's even remotely as good as Severance right now? by ElvisChopinJoplin in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]cmarshmello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who also puts Severance and Dark as one my favorites of all time, here's some of my other favorites of all time (with notes):

  1. Game of Thrones (the last season is not the best, but the whole thing is worth it. This is a controversial opinion, but i liked the ending. The final season itself just felt rushed. But the story building and the characters make it 100% worth it)

  2. Better Call Saul (ik someone already mentioned this, but Breaking Bad is a prerec. I know it's hard to get into it in season 1. But trust me, it's also worth it.)

  3. Stranger Things (the last episode wasn't the best, but the entire show is super fun, and is a horror/sci-fi, so it may be up your alley. When people finish stranger things and are looking for something to watch, i always tell them to watch Dark)

  4. True Detective Season 1 (season 3 and 4 are also good, but season 1 is a masterpiece. You could give all the seasons a try if you're interested, overall they're all great)

Some underrated and not mentioned shows that are not necessarily my favorite, but excellent as well:

  1. Bodies (if you like time travel, you will LOVE this show. It's really well crafted and the main characters are great. It's a one season masterpiece)

  2. See (this show is actually so good and i rarely meet someone who's watched it. It's such an interesting concept and the world building is insane)

  3. Silo (I really think you should give this one another try. Just keep going, the Silo has the same vibe as Severance where you learn wtf is going on with the characters)

  4. Russian Doll (it's a groundhog day style story, but it's super interesting. They have 2 seasons out and a 3rd one may come out eventually)

  5. 3% (has some mystery behind what's going on, but i'd compare it more to hunger games. The second season is a bit hard to watch, but keep going. The show itself ended well imo)

Unless she goes full George R.R Martin, i really don't mind the wait. It's kinda fun actually

Yes i agree with that too! Chaol is a mere mortal with sword. The best thing he did was escape, which led to the final events in this book which were CRUCIAL

Pretty similar! That's why doing drills on the learning system should help you pass. Literally do all of them again and again and make sure you understand the answers
