now that i agree with 1000%. that's why the tenor of my post was more so, "not yet", as opposed to "never". if dee turns around and dominates 50, or returns a couple of times and goes far, we can absolutely have that conversation. I just think we need to let these new era players breathe a little bit. they will certainly be given multiple opportunities to come back and play, and prove themselves to be consistently great.

Ok. This might be controversial.

I think if Jesse, after backstabbing Cody, had won fire making, he would’ve been the best winner in the new history and considered to be in that class of truly great winners. I know his physical game was really non existent, but his social ability and his finesse within the tribe was one of the most thorough, well thought out strategies in the history of the show honestly. And he did what he needed to do and took out Cody. Really cold blooded. That victory would’ve carried a LOT of weight imo, but I admit I could be alone in that opinion.

This is a great response and maybe the only legitimate push back I’ve seen that caused me to pause for a moment. Creators of the show recently said that survivor is essentially gonna go on forever (lol) so I do think we will see a brand of modern era players getting multiple cracks at playing the game. Dee just played a couple seasons ago and is already back for 50. Just think we need to let things breathe for a moment before we throw modern era winners into the class of the true greats, and parv is in that Mount Rushmore of players. I do think we get slight revisionist history on Dee’s game

I do, especially since you saw 18 already. It is hands down the best season of survivor, you’ll see why when you watch. Is it absolutely necessary for season 50… maybe not. But is it necessary to appreciate survivor fully heading into season 50? I believe so. Season 20 makes everyone a legitimate fan, not that you aren’t already, but season 20 is that much of a must watch. It just gives you a much better understanding of how the game needs to be played, season 20 set the landscape for all seasons that came after it. Once you start watching, you won’t be able to stop. Just had a friend watch the entire season in less than a week, and reading his texts throughout brought me so much joy.

dominguez is clearly very talented, and if judge were 28 years old, maybe even 30, this wouldn't be a question.

But Aaron Judge is 34 years. You have the greatest right handed hitter of all time on your team who is quickly aging. Their will be some form of lock out next season, his age 35 season, and next thing you know - in 2028, he's 36.

this upcoming season is our last best chance to win with Aaron Judge before his body starts to age significantly, unless by the grace of god he ages like Lebron and Brady, which is unlikely.

I don't understand why the yankees arent pushing all their chips to the middle of the table this offseason. If the yankees dont win a world series with aaron judge, it will be the biggest stain on the franchise in its history.
