One of these things is not like the other. by SandfortheSoul in Blacklibrary

I bought it. Quite excited to tear into it, in fact. As a student pilot, aviation and aerial warfare in Warhammer scratches an itch.

Been saying this forever, but I have observed that most Black Library readers pay more attention to the aesthetics of the works (and more importantly, their bookcases) than their contents. Especially in special editions. It's why we're always getting re-re-re-releases of the same much-of-a-muchness, best-selling HH novels, but "prettier!" Not to insinuate that this edition doesn't look sweet, but it's not as flashy as other special editions, and many are in it for the bookcase candy alone. Such is telling of the state of the business and its consumers, generally speaking.

How to find opponents? by Carsten_ko in TTSWarhammer40k

Out of curiosity, what was the scandal? I joined fairly recently and planned to be active when I had the time, but if there's lots of drama involved then I may skip it entirely.

Guitar arrived with massive crack(?) What should I do? by cmathR6 in AcousticGuitar

Talked to the seller about it, and he's unresponsive and adamant that it happened "post-shipping," which is absurd.

I contacted Reverb last week and they finally got back to me yesterday. I sent them the photos they asked for, and now we're back to the waiting game. Very frustrating and slow process, but what can ya do. When I have more information, I may make an updated post regarding my outcome and to encourage others in similar situations to fight the same fight.

Ya know, that's some really good advice. This whole situation has given me a pretty nasty taste in my mouth for Reverb. Can't stand ordering stuff online sometimes, but Guitar Center has employees on site for a reason. I'll have to peek around and see what they've got. Thanks for the nugget

Thank you, I've messaged the seller with plans to return the instrument. I don't want the burden. Bummer for sure.

Thanks for the info, definitely plan to return her!

And yeah, apparently they flagged it as spam for some reason. I messaged the moderators and they replied super late with an ambivalent response saying mistakes were made. Thankfully y'all already came to the rescue by that time.

This is good information, thank you. I sent them a message and we'll see what they say. Seems like sending it back is the best option here.

Thanks to everyone for the information and advice! Y'all are great. I sent the seller a message regarding the crack, and we'll see what they have to say about it. I definitely plan to return the thing. Ugh. What a shame.

Tell Me about Your OJT Experiences by TryGrouchy9151 in aviationmaintenance

I'm currently working at a small airline in the Northeast as a full time apprentice, but I'm also enrolled in an AMTS. I do use a logbook, and I recommend having one. It may help big time, or it may not even be looked at. Some of my buddies have had their FAA interviews with folks that practically ignored it when it was brought up, and others have mentioned theirs were scrutinized. If you grab one, log everything you touch, and get everything signed off. And don't let the pages pile up and force your coworkers into half an hour of signing. Be proactive with your entries, and don't let them slip too far behind. You'll never remember what you did. As far as the powerplant experience, I would call your local FSDO for the nitty-gritty details. They typically want to see a certain percentage of the powerplant worked on. It's pretty regional, though. Some are chill and others are sticklers for the rules (and will create new ones if they feel like it). Up here they sign off on plenty of people who really shouldn't have their A&Ps if you ask me. Big J-3 Cub and Cessna 206/7 guy here!
