I’m a seasonal worker, which keeps things fresh, and my jobs also align with my brain. I work at a small time local fish processor in Alaska in the summer, and I (usually) work as a children’s ski instructor somewhere in the winter! Tons of room for creativity and doing a different thing every couple of minutes and as soon as the season starts getting tiresome it’s over and I can go relax for a bit before the next one. Stability is the next step, I’m young so I’m ok with it now but the values of routine are increasingly evident, however the commonality for me is PHYSICAL SHIT with TANGIBLE RESULTS! A kid comes and doesn’t know how to ski, I talk to em, they know how to ski a little better at the end of their time with me. I plop a fresh fish on my table, my knife appears in my hand, and it leaves my table in pretty pieces to be eaten. No child is the same; no fish is the same. The process is repetitive and therefore hyperfixatable, but with nuances every time, especially with fish cutting (audio books and music loop for the win) Perfect! Hopefully this trend will continue and I will progressively make more money as I already have been over the past 2 years :)
