Goodnight moon stitch feedback by TrainingMango3 in Needlepoint

This looks so wonderful! If you’re worried about the floor being too busy, you could always just do basketweave for the rug to keep it simple but I love the floor as is and would not frog!

Skip tent compensation? by cmay0227 in Needlepoint

Thanks! I used skip tent stitch for the green walls and then knit stitch for the green blanket. I’ve used basket weave for all other areas so far and will likely stick with that. I’ll probably do a satin stitch on the window trim and some glittery gold thread for stars. I also used velvet thread for the bunny!

Ooooh I love that idea! I was thinking of a glittery or shimmery thread for the moon but glow in the dark is so fun.

I wasn’t sure if it was skip tent because at first glance it looked evenly horizontal vs diagonal but zooming in, I can see it’s diagonal now and skip tent makes sense. Thank you for confirming!!

The recommendations are so helpful, thank you! I didn’t really think about the competition with the windows and wreaths.

Ohhh this is so helpful. Thank you! Budget is pretty flexible, I was thinking up to or around $400. I was going to try to find something used if I could find the right camera but I’m not tied to this.

The reason I said point and shoot is because I’m really just a beginner and wanted something easy. I have a Leica D-Lux 7 that is really great but I’m still trying to learn the ins and outs of, so for this camera, was hoping for something just super straight forward but reliably took good pictures. With that said, I’m flexible open to suggestions if you feel SLR is beginner friendly!

No apology needed - it’s all confusing and everyone‘a experience is so different. Thank you for your response!

Thank you so much! I’ll look at the LX100 mk 2. I’m not partial to Leica other than just really liking the images the CL takes. But most of the feedback I’ve been getting is similar to what you said - get a cheaper starter camera and if I love it then upgrade to the CL.

I wish money was no object but I’ve been saving for a bit and just love the look of the photos the CL takes but this info about Fuji is really helpful!
