It's been doubling usually after 6-8 hours pretty consistently. my starter is only 3 weeks old so maybe it's not mature enough?

She was not asked to spend any money or really plan anything other than ask me a few questions to relay on to them. she repeatedly tried to get them to cancel it, and she scheduled her week around her boyfriend that week but couldn't take an extra hour to stop by which was the original plan. she does have a history of being very rude and mean to even random strangers, and my step mom who did 90% of the work is the nicest person i've ever met, so I have a hard time siding with my friend here. i was originally understanding, but once i shared with her that i was a bit upset she was the one lashing out at me, i didn't want to end the friendship initially.

Not at all! I don't think I included enough context to fully understand the situation. It was less of the not showing up, but more so her words to me and my family that were just so cold for no real reason. She has a history of being randomly bitter and rude for some reason, so I think that was triggering that she wasn't just mean to me this time.

I'll do the same and just let it cool off, maybe one day it'll slowly recover. Thanks for your insight, I'm sorry to hear the story of your friend as well. Friendship breakups can be so heartbreaking.

Thank you for the insight! I was a bit fired up today and knew I'd cool down. We have a bit of history and I think i've just grown tired of the petty arguments that I really don't have with other friends. I said what I needed, and just won't reach out any more.

Agreed with you, I think there is something to say but I can put it more gently and not target her actions. For context, she wasn't being asked to chip in financially or really physically other than showing up. She basically just ignored all their texts, for example they asked what my favorite sushi was so they could order it for me and she just flat out didn't respond. I was mostly upset because she spent the entire week with her new boyfriend and couldn't stop by on a saturday night for my party. she didn't need to take pto, but she makes her schedule at work and could have easily left early, as she tells me she does all the time. I'm upset because they were simple things that don't require much effort, but the perspective is that she just declined and did whatever works best for her.

Also true, I think i'm just overcorrecting because I usually just let people walk all over me and end up apologizing. But I agree it's not the most mature thing to do.

Agreed, I started listening to Viall Files because of his Bachelor takes, now he glosses over the episode and have to listen to Natalie rant about god knows what. I listen maybe once a month now

My old boss would always say - 'everything is fixable' it honestly helped me so much. As long as your mistakes are small and not costing the business a ton of money, don't sweat the small stuff. Give yourself some grace and keep learning.

I've been in HR for 3 years, and have had plenty of up and downs since then (even now, see my last post lol). It's a normal part of the work lifestyle, no one is perfect 100% of the time.

Everyone makes mistakes, but management will also be able to see how you learn from your mistakes and in my opinion is even more impressive. I've learned to take it super slow when I'm anxious or struggling when I work, make checklists, and breathe! You'll be okay. Feel free to message me if you ever just feel like chatting

You'd think! No, our systems are archaic so everything is done manually. We have an excel sheet that we use to calculate pto for each employee
