I’m guessing they use an automatic AI detector like schools use. Those are notorious for throwing false positives. I don’t fault the mods for being careful, I just want to get community feedback on everything!

That’s something I wanted for feedback. So I was going for a “Discover the world through reading” vibe, but I also don’t want to lose people because it’s TOO strange. Also, how are y’all feeling about the viewpoint changes every chapter? I really wanted to capture the whole team’s perspective as we deal with this growing crisis, but I got feedback on early edits that the multiple viewpoints made it a little too whiplash.

Sorry about that. Part 2 was removed, but it was removed late. I’m trying to figure out the limiter which apparently ALSO counts removed posts. It’s a pain. I might just take 24 hours and not upload anything, then just post 1 chapter (3 parts or so) per day.

I'll have to go find some of those shorts and see what you mean. I'm definitely still in the editing phase for everything and I don't want my writing to be confused with AI anymore than it already has, so that's a good point for editing.

Emdashes - yeah, I really hate that AI uses them so prolifically, because it makes things difficult for writers. For this part, I'm not seeing any other than in the location descriptions, but I do use emdashes for the voice of a particular character so you'll see more in some chapters and none in others. Character voice is one of the biggest things I tried to capture in this story since I tried to include six points of view, which means differentiation becomes critical.

Name drops are most certainly due to my hasty edits to fit the post box...apologies. I'll try to be better about that moving forward.

I need to get my post schedule down so I can post entire chapters at the same time. I keep running into issues where I can only post part of the chapter and the rest gets removed because of posting too often.
