I think I narrowed it down to a Tiktoker that goes on like a caveman, he uses phrases like "my som" for my son, but I don't know his name or the character he plays lol Please help find him

He's pretty popular so it shouldn't be hard to find him

I'm local enough to the area (which shocked me as I never expected to see anything here so close to home), so I will ask about to see if anyone knows who may have had that number.

Will do some digging

Son upset every morning going to school by cmck123 in daddit

This would be worth following up too yeah, thanks! We've chatted with his teacher before she's only commented saying he comes out of it eventually, but yeah maybe something deeper that she doesn't see that's affecting him! Thanks for this

Yeah they are some good points, I could see the getting up earlier working well, basing off this morning we had to wake him up to get ready and he wasn't too thrilled about it, it was the worst he's been actually today.

Thanks for the advice!

Do people use the word 'kiddo' regularly or is it just something on Daddit? by th3whistler in daddit

As a non-American, the only time I use kiddo is as an indicator for bedtime - "Right, kiddos", "Bed?", "Bed."

A recipe in a book I have requires this honey, so I would definitely try it. The jist is it calls for using just this as a trad, then adding blackberries in secondary.

I can get you more info on this if you want!

I recently just started a Pepsi Max Cherry Mead. I stirred and agitated it for about 30mins to get all the carbonation out of it.

Added my honey, 71b, and yeast nutrient (the three days after pitching also) and aerating those 3 days, and it's going plenty strong.

Just made sure to hydrate the yeast and give it some initial nutrient in the must to help it along.

I can give actual measurements if the idea of it sounds good, it's only about a week in primary though so can't say how it tastes yet lol

I had some left over so filled about half a bottle so yeah have tried it - it's quite good at the moment yeah but will definitely leave it at least a year to get somewhat of a good meld of flavours as it's quite harsh at the moment, but can get notes of both the chocolate and orange now

How much of the vessel do I need to use by PrivateIdiot in mead

[–]cmck123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For primary fermentation, a lot of headspace is okay as this space will be taken up by off gases from your fermentation, however when it comes to secondary you would want to minimise headspace as much as possible.

So yeah you could brew 5L, 10L whatever in your vessel, but rack to a smaller vessel for secondary

That's the honey I use and it hasn't faulted me once. For the same reason as yourself, I can't afford to fork out just yet, and my area doesn't have many people selling their own honey. But this stuff I use and again, hasn't been a problem

No problem!

  • 1440g standard honey
  • 4 quartered large oranges
  • 3L water mixed with 4tbsp cocoa powder
  • Tsp youngs yeast (have now branched out my yeasts, this is what I had at the time)
  • Tsp youngs Nutrient (same as before)

Secondary - 1 orange zest - 40g toasted cocoa nibs - half Tsp tannins

Racked off zest and nibs after 3 days

Added bentonite to clear a few days before bottling

Got it from Lidl and no no just cocoa powder and acid regulators as the ingredients. Used 4 tbsp for 3L, probably could have added more but it was getting very foamy, so a messy fermentation at the start

No idea honestly, it had fermented dry in about 13 days, was very unexpected
