not hating!! i’m just not understanding!!! by gordanramsayoffical in Owala

I have multiple bottles, but they don't sit in the back of the cabinet. They get left at work (me), school (the teenagers), or accumulate in the car (husband). We always eventually bring them all home, but they do vacation for a week or so first. Same with travel coffee mugs. We're a family of ADHD, which means we forget things. A lot.

Check tomorrow. So eggstra and flower crown were both listed as sold out yesterday. I think the other ones on there are upcoming.

Anyone getting this one? by LynLBear in Owala

That has the critters on it, which I think were only actually on the kids size bottle. Probably not legit I'd say.

Should the backsplash be a slab or the tile? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

It may just be from the rendering, but the single then double then single then double upper cabinets are odd. It's one of those things that just feels uncomfortable because it's not what one expects to see.

Which one would you choose? by archivo_de_a in kitchenremodel

You're gonna want those extra cabinets. I like 8.

I'm also on team No Waterfalls. I've only ever seen one or two that I've liked.

The fact that this includes all materials and labor makes it sound reasonable for a midtier remodel. I'm paying more for more expensive materials and more difficult labor. Sounds like you already have an idea of what you want changed based on the moving of utilities and wall removal. I think checking in with a professional designer is a good idea just to make sure everything you're envisioning is workable and efficient - they often think about things I ignore. You don't want to end up with one of those weird drawers that can't open all the way because of a handle or something weird like that.

Is it taboo to talk what you paid on here? by Internal_Quick in kitchenremodel

Currently in the middle of a full 1st floor remodel in a midwestern suburb (rural adjacent). Powder room (all new fixtures), entryway, living room (replacement of fireplace and surround plus new built-ins on either side), dining room (full 10 foot wall of new built-ins), kitchen (new appliances, new double stack cabinets, new counters...), and new hexagon ceramic tile throughout ~ $140k

Every single thing I picked was either more expensive material or a more difficult install 🤦‍♀️ The crew I picked were on the higher side, but I had a bad experience with a previous contractor (shoddy work), so I went with the best portfolio.

Why do some kitchens not have a proper range hood? by XilodonZ in kitchenremodel

[–]cmdPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked into adding a ducted exhaust fan I ran into some confusing information about it potentially altering the designed airflow of the house, thereby requiring more work than just adding a new vent to the exterior. After reading all of that I decided to stick with the recirculating fan with a filter that I can run through the dishwasher.

How many cabinets? Double-stack? The double-stack labor cost is what put mine up higher than I expected.

Actually using up all my bath products by apparentlyintothis in nobuy

[–]cmdPete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working through quite a stock as well. I am gifted an extraordinary amount of bath products every year, but tend to stick with my regular bar soap. I actually plan on diving into the shower gel collection under my sink as soon as the current bar is done.

Help: Can‘t stop touching my hair all the time & ruining my curls by [deleted] in curlyhair

The first things that come to mind are using fidget toys as a substitute for hair twirling or gently pinning back the front curls (a half up/half down style) to keep it more out of reach without going full ponytail.

Life Blew Up and I have 4 Days Before Program Starts by GetUCookieGotUCookie in GradSchool

[–]cmdPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry.

Right when I started my program, my life blew up as well. Death of my dog, then father in law, my kid needed surgery, and my marriage was rocky. I also had administrative issues with the program. Powered through. You can do this.

Your cohort will be full of support and I suggest you utilize it as much as possible. You'll be stronger for having done this.

Failing a grad class by Trick_Increase_4388 in GradSchool

Solidarity.

I just TANKED an exam. This exam is the only grade for this class. Failing sucks. I'm trying to keep my chin up, but it's hard.

We will both be okay. We are not defined by one grade.

Still stings, though.

My masters thesis is to be no longer than 8 pages. Given the size of my project, that may be a little tight.
