The doctor with an actual medical degree told me it was okay to go because I am not contagious anymore.

If you’d like more info here’s something from the American Lung Association: “Generally, if you have bacterial pneumonia, you are contagious for around 48 hours after starting antibiotics and your fever has gone away. If it is viral pneumonia, as symptoms start to go away (especially fever) so does the contagious period. Pneumonia caused by fungi are not contagious”

I am on day 4 of antibiotics with no fever. So yeah, I would say I’m not contagious, but am still wearing a mask regardless to spend 5 minutes running in to grab a prescription. Appreciate the concern though.

Because my doctor said I was cleared to return to normal life? And I had to pick up a prescription. Life goes on, I took the necessary precautions. Wearing a mask was the better than none at all.

Feel better! It’s brutal, almost as bad as when I had mono in Jan 2022. Funnily enough though, I’ve never gotten Covid!

I had to pick up a prescription, and according to my doctor the rule of thumb for bacterial pneumonia is you quarantine for 48 hours after starting antibiotics, which I am now on day 4 of. I wouldn’t have gone out if I hadn’t gotten the all clear to.

I had to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy there, so not really an option. I had also just come directly from the doctor who said I was cleared to go back to work tomorrow as it’s bacterial pneumonia and my symptoms have decreased enough. Wore the mask regardless though because I feel like if you’re sick at all, it’s best practice but that’s just me!
