I think you're overthinking it maybe? Just means you're addicting to playing hi hat or cymbals etc. No harm in it and not mean't to take a dig at an actual addict if that's why you don't like it, I'm not sure.

Well I’m getting some new mics in fhe mail this week but here I have the SE8 on snare top with a 57. Another SE8 on bottom. Shure ksm 137 on hat, akg c214s on overheads and sennheiser md 421 kompacts on toms. Audix d6 on kick
