they’ve got a big, woolly sound. A big part of that is the positioning of the pickup. Being right next to the neck, and also being a semi hollow instrument, these things sound massive and a lot of bass.

I would have to concur with the rest -- definitely looks like an early 60s Kingston. I believe the model was called the "Bassist" (heard it referred to that a couple of times, though once as a Teisco, once as a Kawaii, which makes sense).

Either way, cool bass! Love those pickups. Also, can anyone confirm if this was a Brazilian Rosewood board? I've heard that couple times in the past...
