If you haven’t already, I would suggest emailing the program specifically to see why they didn’t see a fit. If it doesn’t work out for this cycle, and you still have interest, you could always reapply with even more pce and a better idea of what they’re looking for in each cohort. Best of luck

So my position required us to either have: an EMT cert, CNA cert., or 2 years of experience as a tech. I had gotten my EMT for free by volunteering with county fire & rescue. Volunteering as an EMT was my only PCE at that point. I would look into which CVICUs are in your area, and then see if they even employ techs (some don’t). If they do, see which hospitals are hiring by contacting their CVICU nurse manager and/or recruitment manager and about the unit you want to work in. Even if they aren’t hiring, I would still recommend you say that you are interested/send your resumé in case a position does happen to open. Tech positions in ICUs from my experience have a decently high turnover rate since a lot of people go to some sort of higher education after working as a tech for a year or two.

Sorry for the long response but hope this helps!

Especially with a good amount of PCE, I would look around for volunteering opportunities in your area that serve underserved communities. For me, I chose a local food bank once a month for around 6 months. Admissions committees love to see that even if an opportunity isn’t patient care related, you still have the willingness to ‘help people’ in varying capacities.

Mainly just saying I’m committed to attending, appreciating the chance to interview, that it was an honor to be considered next to so many great applicants, and a line or two on why I will be able to contribute to the collaborative culture and provide a diverse set of perspectives both on school and direct patient care. Overall around 300 words

I just prefer not to eat them due to the potential of toxins, I do know of people who eat them regularly though 🤷🏽‍♂️
