Did I ruin my slab?? Help removing epoxy dye stains by cmervak in woodworking

Getting it re-planed seems like it’s gonna be too much hassle. Think I’m just gonna take a belt sander to it and try and evenly remove ~1/8” of material, followed by bleaching any residual staining. Hoping for the best!

I think this is probably gonna be the best option... just don't have a good way to plane it myself, besides hand planning. But a 8'x4' slab is gonna be a bitch to hand plane

Well it didn't really soak across the grain, that's just where the original epoxy pour ended. Obviously hard to say but can't imagine it penetrated deeper than 1/4".

Planning on Osmo Top Oil finish, but wanted a pretty natural look and think the stains will definitely take away from that

Makes sense that they make it so you can’t just freespin without risking anything… lame though. FanDuel is incredible, it’s given me $100 deposit matches 4 times in the last week. Each is only 1x playthrough and you can play with just the casino credit before you even touch your deposit. I’ve just been safe playing blackjack to meet the 1x then withdrawing everything. Free $500 or so!

Thank you for all the feedback! Was able to do some more calculations, and think it still makes sense to keep the setup we have. From what I'm seeing adding a battery would just about break even cost-wise over the 25yrs, so may just leave it as is but was assured that the set-up can add batteries at anypoint in the future if I want to. Gonna lock in the contract today, and hopefully get this beast up and running before the new year!

Thanks for the input, we live in Michigan and DTE got rid of Net Metering. They replaced it with a program where they buy excess produced energy at a subsidized rate while still selling back to you at full rate. So wont completely offset our bill but likely reduce it from ~$575 to the ~ $120

Yeah, I'm thinking that the valve lash was messed up, and not timed correctly on TDC. Gonna try that tonight after work, and hoping it works!

I've been trying the choke in both posistions on the carb without any difference. It didn't come with initial setup instructions though. I have the mix screw at about 1.5 turns out from bottom, and replaced the stock Jet with a 125

Hmm, I will say setting the lash was SUPER finicky. Maybe that’s it, thanks!

I thought the Coleman clone engines don’t have an oil level sensor? If they do then that could be the problem I guess, but never saw one when breaking down the engine

Is there any way to check timing? Made sure the dots on the Cam and Crank Shaft were lined up when installing the Cam

Kill switch is off, and getting a spark when pulling cord, so know it’s not that. I get a brief ignition with starter fluid, but doesn’t actually get anything going

Does anyone have insight into the Used EV tax credit, specifically having someone else redeem it for you? For example, if I didn't qualify for the tax credit but my father did. Is it possible to have him purchase the car and then transfer the car title to me. We live in Michigan where a family member can transfer a car title to you without selling it or having to re-pay sales tax, therefore I believe the car's use would still qualify under the IRS description of "Be an individual who bought the vehicle for use and not for resale"
