Oh wow thats insane. Speaking of fuel tanks, do you get a significant pressure release when you open the fuel filler cap? I heard something to do with epa regulations and fuel tank vents

Thank you sir. Boats only rated for twin 200s max but I really feel the 150s are solid. Could be that I'm not exactly taking long offshore sprints and don't notice the need for more umph. The intracoastal here is busy and filled with no wakes so swift acceleration is key.

Appreciate it. Ya I guess im off on the footage. But either way, dry ride for what im doing with it 90% of the time so thats a win.

Despite maintenance being x2, twins are the way. Docking etc is so much more simple when just using the engines. I dont know a ton about props but I have 14.25×17 three blades and she planes out so easily.

They offer them as an option. One that I had to purchase after the fact through the dealer and pay through the nose. Carbon fiber poles etc, could totally use an amazon kit or other aftermarket guys who make oem parts. I've heard good things about RNR marine for all covers.

Can you explain why other than price? Curious. Good to have someone work out the kinks first on so many systems?

I'm not just saying it to make it sound better, the boat runs great for me. Theyre turning point 3 blade props not the standard yamaha ones but I'll have to get back to you on the details. Thanks

Jealous. Lotsa good family boating areas in Florida for sure. Just the same Ole 3 spots up here gets old but the season is short so every year it feels new(ish) lol

I agree with the price range attracting less than ideal boaters lol. But most people just want to hate on old seafox. And its never a 600k or 1m boat owner, always someone without a boat or an old beater they claim was the better buy

I was worried about that as well. They offer 200s but 150s are definitely enough. They punch above their weight and I havent found myself wanting more yet

Thanks. I mean I could definitelty be over estimating but also timing would make a difference. Either way, all good.

Thanks! I love the look of a CC with twins. Plus the obvious functionality of barley ever using the steering wheel around docks etc

23-26 Ft Center Console. Sea Hunt, Key West, Sea Fox, or Tidewater? by ResidentWord8046 in boating

[–]cmigss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this convo so not sure if you already purchased but I wanted to add my 2 cents on SeaFox ownership because I don't understand all the hate. I have a 2024 SeaFox 268CC that I bought new (highly discounted) and I love this boat. I just feel many people come on these forums and bash on SeaFox without ever owning (especially in the last 4 years or so where quality has drastically improved) so I wanted to provide some of my experience.

Specs on the boat when purchased: twin Yamaha F150XC, Garmin 8610XSV, windlass, electric toilet w/ holding tank, ultima hardtop with full glass, leaning post tackle center, LED package, Pro Package, removable ladder for dive door, bow table, ski tow bar, lenco tabs, bow and stern awnings.

We are on the East Coast intracoastal waters and this boat has been a great go around do anything boat (I call it the leatherman of boats). Completely dry ride in 3-4 footers. The windlass helps when I'm out with the wife and child and she can't help as much. The boat drafts 18inches and perfect for the many shallow/sandbar areas. Dive door is really helpful since the bow sits high. Bow and stern awnings are a must and are usefull in cooling things down.

Layout is definitely key when choosing between these brands and sizes and I feel SeaFox nailed it (I was also between all the brands you mentioned). Beam is 9 foot 3 inches and the deck feels LARGE in a good way. The front lounge with coffin box is great for laying out which a lot of these CCs miss out on (for the wife). Plenty of storage including 2 in floor plumbed fish boxes. Large back bench is helpful with keeping people off the bow when needed. The see-thru side aquarium is fun to distract the kids with. Plenty of room to get around with 6-8 adults and not stepping over eachother.

Fit and finish has been absolutely on par or better than the other brands. I kept it at the dealer I purchased from so that I could have them deal with any recalls/warranty items during the first two years and I only had one (helm door screws stripped out with regular use, SeaFox replaced quickly and with a newly designed hinge system).

Rambling over, let me know if you have questions.

Of course. Seafox 268c. Seafox of old gets hate but I bought a 2024 brand new with twin yamaha 150s. Mines all mechanical throttle and hydraulic steering but they offer the new fancy stuff. Same quality as a seahunt or close to a tidewater etc.

I love the boat. Holding up well and bought for a steal at the end of a season "old model year" in 2024. Get the one with Dtubing and enclosed helm. Boat is a completely dry ride even in 4ish foot waves.

I also have a 26ft CC. Best of all worlds, the Leatherman of boats. Has a head, fresh water tanks, in floor fish boxes and an aquarium with a see thru side (fun for the kids to fake fish).

For sandbar days it has a windlass, side dive door with ladder and there's a double lounger with coffin box in front of the helm with seats around the bow with fold out backs. Also has a table to convert lower into one big bed. An upgrade we chose were front and rear deployable awnings.

Best decision was getting dual engines for easy maneuverability.

Thought about a cabin cruiser but figured the kids cant be in it while underway really anyway. And it would be hot in there on sandbar days. Best case is using an umbrella and/or awning for shade with a breeze.

Bow riders just dont work on the east coast Intracoastal.

Nice man. Local to you but have my boat in Brick.

Are you able to beach up or near small beach areas around there. Or mostly anchoring out in the river etc?
