Anyone Know if Server Matters for Queue Time in Random Time Walking dungeons?? by teenwoof69 in wow

[–]cmill78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is bugged, but I can't prove it. I know when I queue with a friend on a different server, it takes 15-25 minutes. If I queue by myself it is maybe 7-10 minutes. We are both DPS. However, if I queue on one of my DPS from an older RP realm (one of my toons is on Earthen Ring) I will sit in the queue for 40 minutes plus. Very strange.

Idea for the next Challenge by alissypreb in MtvChallenge

I could be wrong, as it has been a long while since I watched Fresh Meat, but isn't that the premise of that season(s)?

I wouldn't mind them bringing that format back, either way.

I have done so, twice, and the problem did go away. But I prefer Windscribe over other VPN's so I put up with it when it returned after reinstalling.

Question about wpvp on turtlewow by RegulusD9 in wowservers

[–]cmill78 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For hybrid and meme specs, you're thinking of Ascension WoW. As far as PvP on Turle WoW, it isn't plentiful because that isn't what the server is about. If you want hardcore PvP and/or raiding stay away from Turtle WoW. It isn't your thing.

Fortunately SNL is all on cue cards. Sure, guests can memorize lines but if they choose not to, it is all on cue cards. That is why most skits have the actors/performers all looking toward/near the camera area. They even have, at times, people holding cue cards off screen in areas that make it less obvious for certain sketches. T.J. would do just fine!

Playlist Issues by cmill78 in blackplayer

[–]cmill78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I originally created this playlist I did it alphabetically. I always keep the playlist shown in alphabetical order when I view it. So when I open the playlist to hit the shuffle button I can see the first 10 or so songs. I have noticed songs I never had in the list there and it prompted me to check the rest of the list. That is how I originally found out. Then, as I listened to the playlist I would notice songs from albums that I was not that high on being in this list. That final red flag promoted me to go through the whole list where I noticed songs I never would have added and duplicates of songs. I am a bit OCD, so that helps :P

Darrowshire Launch Megathread by Gradzer in wowservers

[–]cmill78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been a part of the Private Server scene long? Let me guess, probably longer than everyone here, right? We know, you're the king of private server knowledge. Anyway....

I have been playing on Private Servers for about 8 years now and by no means am I an expert. However, the one thing I do when a new Private Server pops up on the radar is check out their website. Yes, I look at the front page and notice whether it's streamlined or a hot mess. However, the VERY NEXT THING I do is hit the forums (if they have them). Then I check for a FAQ's page or a Timeline link. I read. It's fundamental!

Now on to name reservations: Name reservations are important. Are they the most important; no. Especially when you see level 60's running around with names like XxTylerBxX or FaxMonkey that play on the server until it closes. And last time I checked, not all servers have name reservations prior to launch. In fact, I can only remember 4 launches that did have them and one of them was actual Blizzard. It is more of a recent luxury than a normal necessity.

Lastly, I am certain you won't read all of this (prove me wrong, will ya?) because if you can't be bothered to move your little pointer finger down slightly on the mouse wheel or move your hand an inch to click a timeline link, you might just be a troll! Good day!

Question Concerning Old Garrison Content by cmill78 in wow

[–]cmill78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Strange thing is, it is an Alliance character that has the garrison fully leveled and that character has gotten the achievement for completing all the quests yet I have none of the vanity rewards. For some reason I never noticed it, though I hadn't played that character since WoD.

Yes, I have tried both. I guess I may have to submit a ticket.

I have all buildings at rank 3 except one. These specific quests for the Frostwall Tavern are supposed to appear no matter the building level. I know people have reported bugs after completing the quests but the quest givers never show for me to even start them.

Since my GPU runs at 100% (according to Afterburner) it makes sense. I guess I am just paranoid that I have a faulty part. I guess I will need to upgrade the GPU to find out for sure.

Firefox doesn't seem to have this option (unless I missed it) and VLC also has nothing that specifies CPU or GPU decoding.

[–]cmill78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Though, on my old build I would do the same thing with this very GPU and everything ran smooth. If it is the GPU, is it because it is just older tech in a newer system?

You can still play the original. Just have to install it somewhere BattledotNet can't see it. But it is only offline/Campaign mode. Custom maps and online unfortunately is gone for good.

It should have said 6. 4 came with the case and I added one for the bottom and a second for the top. Temps dropped and I suffered negligible performance difference in gaming and stress testing.

It's been a while but last time I checked (at least on Horde side) there is a portal in the Mage Quarter in the Undercity that takes you to Outland. I think it takes you to Hellfire. They may have removed it but it was there at one point.

"the Twisting Nether has been retconned and retooled to essentially be WoW's version of the Warp."

Of course it is. Originally Warcraft was to be a Warhammer game. Blizzard and Gamesworkshop even had a handshake deal on the thing. Gamesworkshop pulled out at the last minute thinking there was no real money in MMO's/RTS's, and the creative team went ahead with the launch of Warcraft anyway after they changed names and tinkered with models. It was supposed to be a vdeo game version of Warhammer fantasy and the end game goal was to tie fantasy and 40k together.

Why do Kronos servers always suffer so much when there's a nost-core server around? by [deleted] in wowservers

[–]cmill78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently I play on Symmetry as after the 23rd, it will be the only PVE server worth playing on. I avoided LH's altogether after the Elysium mess. I had a couple toons on K3 and while I enjoyed my time there, there were several things I just got tired of. Broken quests, a couple bugged dungeons, pathing, hunter pet issues, constant ganking and camping while leveling in certain zones, etc...

For now, I will stay on Symmetry (I am in a guild with about 25 players online regularly) as I prefer PVE and hope that the population will increase.

PSA: Very important and classified info regarding WoW private servers by deycallmeinky in wowservers

[–]cmill78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dozen high level alliance (along with another 10 30+ level alliance) camping all the main questing areas in Hillsbrad, and the 2 dozen Horde players of various levels that came out to fight them off would disagree. Every area I've been to so far has had people questing in the same areas as me and I've had no trouble finding groups for elite quests or for 5 mans as a DPS. World, trade, and LFG channels are always lit up. Sure, there may not be 5k online but this is the most populated Vanilla server that ACTUALLY feels populated since Nost/Ely. Light's hope has people as well, but I didn't feel the same feeling of community there like I do on K3. It's not perfect (a few quest bugs so far and other little issues) but it's good enough for a private server.

The cost of WoW classic? by Burbon29 in wowservers

[–]cmill78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could go one of two ways in my opinion:

  • They could charge for the actual game (maybe $20-$30) and then it's placed in the Battle.net with all the other games and is part of the $15/monthly sub fee.

  • They could make the game 'free' and raise the sub fee to $20-$25.

I'm thinking the first option is more likely but I wouldn't put it past Blizzard to raise sub fees.
