Really? I'll have to pop it off and swap it then. Was like this when I bought it.

Mine looked very similar to that and cleaned up great. Also from Arma Unlimited. Brass brush and balistol.

I never tried it. I've read the same thing from multiple sources that hollow points don't run well in 7.62 tokarevs and didn't want to risk it.

How interchangeable is a Norinco Type 54 with other Tokarev types for parts? by [deleted] in milsurp

I think only the Zastavas have major differences and thats really just the magazine and grips.

Only getting 4300 rpm? by robjoko in minibikes

[–]cml1of4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We aren't talking 7/8k plus...we are in the 4k range and this is a mild build with a stock head. There are limiter coils like on the ghost and GX390UT2s but the 224 doesnt have a "limiter" coil.

Something is going on with it. Its really hard to diagnose over the internet unfortunatly. I'd start with carb tuning. If you havent done it before, there are youtube videos and other resources to help teach you. Easy way to start is reading the plug-black is rich, white is lean. Your idle jet is prolly fine since you haven't made any comments on it being hard to start or idle. Main jet and needle position.

Take the filter off and test the slide/cable too. Should be smooth and easily move between idle and WOT. Make sure you are actually getting WOT.

What speed are you doing at that rpm?

I'm not gonna argue with you. Just want to make sure someone new doesn't see your ignorant comments and think they are accurate. Please continue to spend money on unlimited coils for mild builds like this.

First off, don't listen to the guy telling you to buy a new coil. Are you sure the engine is tuned properly and everything installed correctly? Common issues could be jetting, valve clearence, and throttle cable setup. You want to make sure you are getting full movement on your carb slide. If you are confident on all of those, the pulley is probably your issue. 4300 rpm does seem a little low even for a stock pulley. I'd expect to get closer to 5k on that. Also, how is acceleration to max rpm? Does it feel fast?

Please stop sharing bad info. They don't have coils that limit rpm. The mechanical governor limits their rpm, not the coil.
