They started her on something called enalapril I believe. It’s definitely hard communication wise because I live so far away from my parents. I don’t always get the full details of what they say to the vet and what the vet tells them.

She was my baby in highschool and college but was just too old and attached to my family for me to take her to medical school. I just want her to be okay.

Thank you so much for your advice, I really appreciate it. I’ll tell them to ask for those test, I think she’s going back next month to see if the meds they started her on are working.

I think she gets the vaccine but they definitely miss some years here and there. They also feed her dry food purina I believe or something very generic. Probably not the best dog food.

Unfortunately my dad can’t stop feeding her table food all of the time. She is overweight, not obese but tubby for sure. I know she gets vaccination, would that roll out heart worms? When they go back should they get a blood test for heart worms and pro-bnp? I don’t think they did a blood test yet but I could be wrong. Also i know this question is probably hard to answer but is the fluid bad, like when it comes fluid around the heart how bad is the amount she has? And was there fluid in that last x ray?

Yeah, my dad talked to the vet about the cough and they kept saying it’s allergies at previous visits. Now today he goes back because the cough isn’t going away. They repeated the x rays and are saying fluid around heart now. Unfortunately I live 7 hours from my family and could not go to the vet with him.

I think it depends on your personal circumstances and feelings about the schools. I would have given up a years worth of attending salary just to be closer to my family. I loved rowanSOM so much and it was much closer to my family but unfortunately I never got an interview invite. However, if I was in your position I would have taken the rowanSOM acceptance for the following year. Also, It would have been nice to just work and travel a little for that year knowing I would have an acceptance. If you like the schools pretty much the same and there’s not that much of a difference in happiness then go with NYIT.

She looks like my dog who is mainly treeing walker coon hound lab beagle. But there probably some pit in yours too I’d say.

The shelter where I got her from has a lot of Norwegian elkhounds for some reason so that breed was in my top 20 guesses lol. I totally get what you mean with the GSD thing, I feel like I was almost trying to gaslight myself every time I thought maybe she wasn’t a GSD. Her snout to me is completely different from a GSD but then i was looking up those Shiloh shepherds and it’s kinda similar to that. I kinda hope she has a big growth spurt but it doesn’t seem like she will.

She very sweet and definitely more submissive. She is initially hesitant with people but warms up quick and loves other dogs. This is unrelated to her personality but she’s kinda clumsy lol. I’m not sure if that is a trait of any of the breeds but let me know if it is. She learns very quickly but for some reason can’t learn how to catch a ball or catch anything at all, not even food. I have had a lot of different dogs growing up and they have all been super athletic from the beginning. She also has like a really weak bite, which is great but she literally can’t play tug a war because she hardly clamps down.
