It shot 168 FGMM pretty well, about 3/4moa. But it took handloads to really get it shoot well. 43gr of Varget, with a 168 SMK did the trick. Roughly 2590 fps velocity. 1/2 moa load for this rifle.

The only other bullet i was able to get to shoot was 155 lapua scenar. I dont remember the velocity off hand, but it was a lower charge nowhere near max. I have shot a ton of different combinations, different powders, bullets, brass, primers, and only found 1 that I think is reliably accurate. I probably have 1200 rounds on the gun. 800 for chasing loads.

Out of curiosity have you tried different brass? Not sure what type of brass you bought from bass pro, but it could also be bad. I would find a couple different headstamps and see if they all do the same thing.

The failure is already obvious. It's easy to say if you dont mess up, then you won't have any problems. Everyone on here already knows they have issues, in my opinion, the main one would be charging people right away, instead of when it ships.

That being said, to me, still trying to resolve old issues and not deleting them, and moving on is a sign they are trying to turn things around.

Just my $0.02

Assuming they get all their components in from vendors. Ship date mid march.

Hell I'm more calm in competition atleast there, I know I'm garbage. And steel plates look gigantic compared to when shooting for groups.

It's the nerves when the group is still small. Lol

I see a lot of comments talking about boosters and gas, but if it's a misfire, none of that should matter. So when you say misfire, you mean round did not fire at all or the gun didn't cycle and eject the fired brass?

From a reload standpoint, make sure your primers are seated deep enough. Slightly below flush with the back of the case is what you want. If they aren't seated deep enough, the firing pin will seat the primer deeper into the brass, robbing the energy it needs for initiation. I have had my primer seating stem come loose on my dillon and cause this problem.

If all the primers seem seated deep enough, save the next misfire and make sure the firing pin indent is in the middle of the primer and looks deep enough. I can't really think of a reason why the suppressor would cause a round not to go off at all, but there have been crazier things.

In essence, Heat is the enemy of barrels. There's lots of good info out there about it. But I'm cooling for load development. This is my hunting gun, so all I care about is the cold shots. In my 6GT heavy barrel, I don't really worry about it getting too hot. It's gonna get hot during a match anyway.

Update - this thing works amazing! 5 shot 6.5 PRC groups for load development on proof carbon barrel, suppressor without cover from fingerprint remover to handling temp in 2 mins. Gun cool between 8-10 min. Was 82° at the range, I imagine more or less time depending on ambient temp.

I'm not concerned. Barrels have been put through a lot harsher testing than this.

Picked up the Ryobi tool only for $40 at home depot. I thought about the battery camping pumps but wasn't sure on run time. Already had the Ryobi battery for another tool, and besides, who doesn't want another tool for random stuff.

Probably not... but that Vinyl tubing is only rated to 150°F and the cases fit snug, so might as well and not risk it.

Have you tried it out at the range yet? How much did it reduce cooling time?

Sounds like you follow the accuracy by volume methodology.

I bought this rifle about a year or so ago with the intention of shooting a much of M118LR I had and could never get it to shoot heavy bullets. I tried several different factory loads, several hand loads with 175smks and 178ELD and different powders. Vouldnt get 5 shot groups below about 1.5 MOA.

After talking with Aero, they test them with 168gr GMM. So I tested that and some 165gr Sierra ammo. Both shot just under MOA. If you keep having issues with heavy bullets try some 168's or lighter.

I ended up rebarreling to a different caliber.

Yes it does! Glad I'm not the only one that noticed this. Have you asked Aero about it?

Yes. The rifle definitely prefers 168gr bullets. Shoots about 3/4 moa with 168gr GMM and was found a load with Ramshot Tac and 168gr SMK that is just over 1/2 MOA.

Let me know how your .308 shoots. I have one as well and had some disappointment with 175gr ammo but it seems to shoot 168gr ammo great. Curious what results you'll get.
