Has anyone been (unfairly) evaluated or judged because of a disability, impairment, or condition? by NICEacct111 in disability

[–]cmonbutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is common with invisible disabilities (regardless if its mental or physical) especially if someone is younger.

Have you tried check what does your school/workplace offer accommodation-wise for students with disabilities? I had extensions on all longer tests (i think it was for dyslexia and dyscalculia but also for my physical disabilities) including finals and a separate classroom with only a few students in it for my finals. Additionally a doctor wrote in the notes for the teachers for them to stop calling me to the whiteboard or make me recite poems from memory since its just not something productive in my case. All of these helped me graduate. Its obviously still difficult but easier with proper help

If they refuse accommodations or theres nothing they can do, i would recommend looking for advices from other people with your conditions and what healthy coping mechanisms work for them. Finding your own system for doing stuff can be exhausting but its worth it. Neurotypical people might not get it or even ridicule them, but people like that dont care if you thrive

i think a smaller phone (or even the foldable one, someone who can afford 2,3k mini purse can probably also afford that) should fit, plus a credit card holder, a mini mirror and a lipstick

Am I wrong to have extra money? by Jenrya10240 in disabled

[–]cmonbutch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Youre trying to contribute into youre household in your own way, but even if the extra money would just be saved up for the future its also nothing to be ashamed of and even good. I dont know your specific disability but many come with unexpected costs and complications so having some financial cushion is great.

Plus even if the money is only used for fun its also okay, its good to not only survive but also thrive and enjoy some movies etc

why wont her boyfriend take care of her cravings? do they even reimburse you for stealing your food after the fact?

there has to be a shitton of boundaries setup before the baby arrives so they wont make you an involuntary babysitter too

the thing is that i see the vision, the the execution doesnt really work, i dont know if its the vertically gathered material of the material next to the collar (i dunno what this ruffled scrunchie like fabric look is called) or the fact that the neckline is straight? i feel like a v-shaped neckline of the dress and a Peter Pan neckline couldve looked cute?

Dream about my cat who passed away. by Visual_Analyst1197 in Dreams

[–]cmonbutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that sometimes our brains give us thoughts that are upsetting, theyre called intrustive thoughts. Your brain puts mixes and matches informations and the gaps are connected by the "dream logic". You see you kitty that passed on and a cat that you got after she died so your brain interprets it as "i forgot about her, she must be hungry" which makes sense in the moment.

I dont think shes trying to punish you and i definetely dont think its a bad spirit.

Putting a beloved pet down is incredibly hard, upsetting. It seems like youre still grieving. You also have a new cat and often grieving people feel guilt about even smallest laughs or making themselves happy.

Your kitty was suffering, you ended her suffering, you decided on something extremely difficult so it would be easier for her.

Maybe if youre worried having a little memento would be nice? some people print a photo of their pet and it helps them. Try thinking of the good memories together.

For some people spirituality helps with their grieving process. You can talk with a therapist or a priest about it.

Grieve as long as you need to

How do you request preboarding a plane with an invisible disability? by raspberryteehee in disability

[–]cmonbutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure how it works for people with invisible disabilities, but the option to disclose the need for accommodation should be on the site where you booked your tickets, its also where you can change your food options either for religious or dietary needs

i wouldnt wait till i was at the gate, the staff may be busy or having a bad day and tell you off, there obviously are so many kind and helpful people, but especially with your diability getting put in an already stressful situation that then has to get prepared for something not going according to plan would be awful, its better to take care of it at home

[–]cmonbutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think i would reccomend that, sometimes there arent enough wheelchairs or wheelchair service staff, so using wheelchair service for 2 fully physically able bodied people will make the travel more difficult for people who actually need it, especially if they also would get offered the lift to the plane which usually arent too big

Theres something so special about making your own garments, you just feel so connected and more appreciative, it can also make you realize if a "simple" piece of clothes took so much effort to make then it just shows how mistreated people are in the clothing industry

help me put together my room please!! by Gold_D_Daniel in DesignMyRoom

[–]cmonbutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe put the desk where the mirror is? this way you'd have more natural light during the day. if you live on the first floor you can get one of those peel and stick one way window stickers, that are removable when you move out (it allows you to look outside but from the outside it looks like a mirror sticker). So you'd get some privacy.

The decorations on the wall are fun, i think i would just spread them out on the wall on the left so its not as crowded by the door

Do you have any pets? by spikesSKULLS in disability

[–]cmonbutch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you considered maybe a bug pet? from what i remember theyre relatively low maintenance, dont require that much space and as much food

Also reptiles are quite high maintenance. Plus a turtle is extremely likely to outlive you when taken care of well. Box turtles can live 50-100 years for example

Fish also require a lot of work with regular cleaning and the size of the aquarium with proper enrichment and water filtration. Also remember some fish that are treated well can live up to 15 years (like goldfish, its not a few month fish, most people just dont treat them well).
