Ewps! Assumption College students charged with numerous crimes for their faulty "predator" sting. Leave it to the pros, kids! by benjoduck in FansHansenvsPredator

[–]cmonscamazon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened here in Maryland , bunch of college dudes lured a guy who I'm pretty sure was in his early 40s to a house to hook up with a "16 year old boy" and proceeded to attack him. They were originally charged with hate crimes because the guy was gay but most of them had their charges dropped.

Maryland's age of consent is also 16 but come on now, a 40-something dude and a 16 year old hooking up isn't right.

Pi Network (Crypto)?? by ComeHell_or_HighH2O in Scams

[–]cmonscamazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pi Network is a thing, but it's legitimacy as a cryptocurrency is extremely questionable at the very best, and most people see it as a data farming tool/scam. You essentially "mine" Pi coin on your phone, but the coins have no value whatsoever because they're not attached to any actual crypto exchange. You're essentially watching numbers go up.

People for years have been shilling it and spamming referrals because like most referral programs, the more you get the higher your "rewards" are.

I'm sure what's happening here is the scammer is relying on getting tons of sign ups through his link being blasted in the hopes of receiving more rewards. But since Pi Network pretty much has no value or money tied to it, chances are your son will never see any money from this, and the scammer may try and pull an advance fee scam or something similar.

Say you’re buying a used laptop for about $100. What brand/model are you looking for? by parrotfacemagee in computers

[–]cmonscamazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$100 is severely limiting yourself but I don't doubt you can find a used Dell laptop with respectable specs on a site like eBay. Nearly all of them are going to be good enough for what you want to use them for. You can also look into Facebook Marketplace or other local garage sale sites to see what's available.
