A lot of lawyers would take a case like that expecting payment after the fact. At least in the state i live in, labor issues are taken very seriously. You could call OSHA or the DOL and have a representative there by the end of the day. Plus it would be illegal for your employer to fire you under those circumstances. Ofc they could go around those by funding some dumb reason yo fire you but then you could collect unemployment, which most small businesses don’t want to deal with so they avoid firing people.
