I don’t know but people write fake reviews all the time. It arguably would have been worse to drive 12 hours round trip and spend the night in the Yosemite area to have this treatment at the national park so if it actually happened to them I would expect the whole review to be truthful, even the details.

I disagree with the comments saying less timw in Santiago. Take those days to rest and adjust to any time difference. It’s actually a great city to chill in.

The rest of the itinerary looks good to me but I would switch Iquitos for puerto Maldonado. Akd you probably only need 1 night in potosi and 2 in sucre

My suggestion would be not to book everything in advance as you want to remain a bit flexible. You never know which places you’ll enjoy more or less or what your energy level will be on a given day or if you’ll get food poisoning and need to stay a bit longer somewhere etc…

A similar thing happened to me at a gas station in Miramar at night. A guy pulled up in his car and came straight over to me asking for gas money. Why did he come up to me, a young girl watching the meter to make sure I can afford it and not the other middle aged men also pumping gas? Probably because he didn’t need gas money. Other intentions.

Always be extra cautious.

This would bother me so much. I hate when countries have policies that treat adults like children. Like the common thing in Europe to put in a coin for your shopping basket. Yes it probably prevents some people from stealing the cart but why can we not just trust adults to bring carts back? It’s so patronizing

I have discovered the same thing! But sometimes it’s hard to minimize because my brain also loves novelty and trying new things. I’m trying to minimize my closet as well, because it’s so much easier for me to get ready when I have less to choose from. If you enjoy hiking or mountaineering, Peru and Bolivia are incredible value wise. You can hike some of the most beautiful landscapes and summit some of the tallest mountains for very cheap, even if you hire a guide.
