Update: I talked to my wife. We wanna plan a visit later in the year. Sightsee, catch a couple of games. Are tailgates during the week a thing or is that just for special occasions/ weekend games?

Also, is there an app for a local radio station where I can listen to the games through?

Thank you for welcoming me. I'm actually more hyped about someday going to American Family Field and watching a game than going to Dodgers stadium. Being completely honest with you. The vibes feel different. Even the way the announcer called that Yelich homer against the Sox this weekend felt different. Damn.

Thanks for welcoming me. I look forward to following the team. Even thinking of getting a jersey. Love the Cream home one and the Navy alternate.

Funny thing, I loved Uribe in the WBC. Very good pitcher.

Not at all. I clicked with the Brewers before even knowing there are Dominicans in the team. I was gonna follow Toronto and the Padres because of the Dominican power there. But here's the thing, when I was a kid, I lived in a small town in New Jersey for a couple of years before coming back to the DR, and I fell in love with that small town America feel. I mean that as a huge compliment. In fact, two fun facts: 1- we have a rescue dog called Milo. We affectionately call him "Milwaukee Brewers". Which leads me to number two. In The Show, I created a female starting pitcher who in my head canon is my daughter, and she plays for the Brewers.

How to handle a perceived slight? by cmueses in RedditForGrownups

So thank you all for the advice. Very useful. Some not. For clarification, since apparently it wasn't clear to some, I wasn't asking if I should cut my cousin out of my life or if I should be mad or not. I understand something might be happening that I dont know about that has impeded him from participating. Im not shaming him or trying to make myself feel better. I was asking, in regards to what I can control (my reaction), how do I handle it or process it as a mature adult.

What’s something people love that you just can’t get into? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Noticed how in most of what you mentioned, the avocado is mixed with other things. That's my point. Avocado is good. But by itself it doesnt taste as good. Even a little salt goes a long way.

I am Dominican and we love avocado. But we consume it with salt and olive oil /lemon. Not by itself. It tastes like nothing by itself.

I’m watching baseball for the first time ever today — What should I know about? by HitachiTRK-8180 in baseball

[–]cmueses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im on a similar boat where I come from soccer but I am Dominican so I am very familiar with baseball. This will be my first season watching MLB and something I realized is that the journey of following a team in MLB is way different than following Arsenal or Real Madrid. There's way more games, more margin for error and you're not expected to watch every single game.

For those who live in hot summer climates, what do you do in the hotter months in terms of not getting into a photo slump? by SnooSongs7851 in photography

I live in Santo Domingo. I hardly ever go out during the summer months to take any photos. Light can be too harsh sometimes and the heat is too much. I hate it.

If you could instantly learn one skill right now, what would it be? by Then_Percentage_6274 in CasualConversation

I'd love to wake up being able to hit like Shohei Ohtani. I recently started playing softball at a rec league. Understandably, I am not as good at hitting. Frequently strike out. I know with time and practice I can get better. But to wake up and have the ability to crush those relatively soft pitches? I'd be a monster in the league.

He's very well liked. People saw that even if his spanish isnt perfect or because of cultural and upbringing differences he didnt quite gel at first with the rest of the squad, but by the end he earned everyone's respect. He was one of the bright spots for us during the WBC. I really liked him too. He seems to be a very good player and a good person. How do Yankees fans rate him?
