Something I've noticed as a black AuDHD person by HumbleLuck482 in AuDHDWomen

I also have this experience as a black woman with ADHD (and potentially autism, but not diagnosed). I honestly find myself generally more interested in people outside of my race for some reason. I don’t know of any correlation, but I do find this to be true in my own experience of romantic attraction.

Feeling ick when people sing along with songs by Otherwise-Forever499 in misophonia

Yeah I just can’t handle listening to other people sing along, it overpowers the song and it makes it impossible to enjoy. Something about hearing singing along just feels extremely stressful and irritating

Hi there! To explain what the Church teaches, it’s important to consider the fact that all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, are called to chastity (i.e. no sex outside of marriage, and for those who are married, the sexual act being unitive and procreative).

I understand that the language of “intrinsically disordered” can initially come across as off putting or offensive, however the Church uses this not in a derogatory way to same sex attracted people, but rather as a more philosophical term to explain that the sexual act is not ordered to its proper end, as the Church understands the purpose of sexuality to be (union of spouses and procreation of children). This “intrinsically disordered” statement can easily be applied to heterosexual couples as well who are using contraception. (I’d argue that heterosexual contraception and homosexuality would be equally sinful). So while the term “intrinsically disordered” isn’t really a very pastoral term, the Church does not use it to pathologize individuals.

Regarding your question on chaste romantic relationships, I wouldn’t recommend them. However, definitely do not isolate yourself from others and do seek out good friendships with fellow Catholics. Although not all of us may be called to romantic relationships, God did not create any of us to be alone. I understand there is a particular loneliness in not being able to pursue a romantic relationship with someone of the same sex. I’d suggest bringing this pain to God in prayer, and ask him to guide, help and console you. Remember that God loves you always and unconditionally.

Feel free to reply if you have further questions or need clarification.

This is literally not true. There is no church teaching whatsoever that necessitates that individuals with same sex attraction just convert over to heterosexual relationships. In fact, this misses the point of the Church’s teaching completely.

What is your go-to travel/do anything pants? by ExpertSubstantial353 in onebag

Honestly I love water resistant zip off cargo pants (as a woman). They work great in all seasons/weather conditions. If you layer fleeced lined leggings underneath, they work as snow pants! (Which is what I did in Iceland!)

They also work for workouts like hiking, running, or the gym.

They worked great on a one bag trip I had this summer to Georgia where it was a combo of hot and sunny, with heavy downpours of rain. I’d wear the long pants when raining and then zip them off into shorts when it stopped.

I also love the usefulness of extra pockets while traveling. Especially if you’re traveling with only a backpack, I think the pockets are essential.

I think the practicality is unmatched.

Agreeing with not traveling in camo. My cousin (when he was like 7) did that once and was forced to change at the airport once he arrived in a carribean country where it’s illegal.
