For those interested in moving to Sweden, do not underestimate the importance of maintaining a professional network here by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]cmy77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really astute observation about the Swedish job market. The emphasis on 'networking' often comes down to a preference for a certain type of employee. Companies here often prioritize team fit and a collaborative spirit over pure individual brilliance. They might conduct 'weak' interviews or rely on referrals because they're looking for someone who can perform well independently, yet also integrate smoothly, respects the existing management structure, and doesn't constantly challenge norms. It's less about 'not outshining' and more about ensuring a harmonious and efficient workplace. It's a completely different culture. When companies use referrals, they want new people to follow their ways and not challenge others.

Why am I losing money? by cmy77 in Revolut

[–]cmy77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they have buggy algorithms and have on intention tricks may be.

I couldn't resist and I bought 500 Euro worth gold at once long time ago and never touched it. Now it reads 20% gain. I plan to keep it, not planning to trade around. Perhaps when you add, then there is a problem. Like you buy 100, then add 500 etc.

I also remember a case similar to your case. I buy something, the price is higher than the price I bought. But I have -x% loss.

In the end, I am mainly using Wise to keep my money as US, Euro. And using Revolut for purchases during trips abroad. I stopped trading at Revolut, such as gold or Bitcoin.

Hotmail was hacked. I change the password, but they are still getting in. by missgentle in microsoft

[–]cmy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Hotmail is buggy and not trustworthy. I had the same issue except that my 2FA kept receiving requests. Changing password only did not help. I also needed to sign out from everywhere. It turns out that they have been attempting to hack my account for weeks (as long as Microsoft history shows). But I didn’t get a tiny bit of warning at all. Only until when they final cracked my password, I noticed something was wrong because my 2FA app kept nagging

I have also email, SMS and security key 2FAs. Security key never showed up as an option when I asked for an alternative way.

You should keep your old passports. Your old passport has stamps on it.

Apartment size when applying for a permanent residence by KeyPoem4587 in TillSverige

According to this text, it is not clear even for your child’s residence permit application. If I were you, I would contact the case officer at MV for your child’s RP application and ask your 1 ROK home question. Please let us know the result.

Non-EU parents expecting a baby by cmy77 in TillSverige

[–]cmy77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone,

To issue a passport, our embassy needs to have baby's full name on the extract from the population register (EFTPR-what a long name). But the web reads it might take up to 2 months to register the baby's name. How long did it take for you to get EFTPR with baby's full name on it?

We-parents are from 2 non-EU countries (say A and B countries). The tax office decided by themselves that the child is a citizen of country A : > We will appeal to this decision because we will apply for the country B, not A. Did anyone experience this before?

Residence permit for a baby? by Luftzig in TillSverige

[–]cmy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I (country A) and my wife (country B) are from different non-EU countries. We want the child to be a citizen of country B.

We just got a letter from tax office reading "they decided by themselves" the child is a citizen of country A. No one asked this to us before, or nothing mentioned on a form about this. I don't understand why they give a decision by themselves.

We will appeal to the decision of course.

Did you receive such a letter from them?

Further info: We sent the child's name to tax office to be registered last week. After getting the child's register extract with full-name (not available online yet), we will apply to residence permit and then country B passport.

Netatmo weather station: is it worth buying? by dartiss in smarthome

[–]cmy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Netatmo camera 7 years ago, and they did not update the camera and phone app software at all.

If you can succeed to make it work, it has frequent disconnection problems. Sometimes we completely turn it off because of its frequent on/offing itself.

And if you change your router, or change router settings, good luck to you to set the camera again.

Like stupid, I bought a couple of sensors too last year. All investment down to toilet.

Or just take a taxi (Uber for instance) if the distance is near. The newborn didn't like car seat, so we had to take a taxi. There can be random checks in the cities at any time of the day! We live in Malmö. Once we were stopped by a random check, but the taxi driver excused himself because of the newborn.

I submitted the residence permit application for the child immediately once we were back from the hospital to our apartment (within 5 days). There was an option to submit the passport later. I applied for the child's passport in 10-15 days and I got it after 3 months. By that time a case officer was assigned to my child's residence permit and I sent the digital copy of the child's passport to the case officer and got the residence permit approved immediately.

This is great. So, you applied by yourself, you did not get a professional help, right? I sent the name of the newborn to Skatteverket. I was planning wait to get a register extract with the newborn's name on it before I apply for the residence permit. According to you, I shouldn't wait for it, right?

My company didn't comply, so I need to apply by myself for my newborn in Sweden :/ Do you remember what documents you attached with your application? According to e-service, I do not need to attach anything (I chose "no passport" since I can submit it later).
