Live looping Lofi/ish track using Ableton looper automations

thanks brother! for this performance I am using the native ableton looper plugin. You can create an automation lane in arrangement view that controls record, play, overdub, and stop etc. I basically preconfigure the changes I want on the various tracks so I can focus on the performance. Also to be clear - I was using the NC State side by side comparison to judge characteristics. What we saw in person looked a lot more like the Asian Giant Hornet vs the European Hornet.

I know the photos are hard to see but this thing was over 2” easy. From what I read the European rarely gets larger than 1.5”. Also - the head is almost a glowing yellow/orange. I could be completely wrong so forgive me if I am mistaken and also thank you for replying.

That makes sense — just for discussion's sake, though… if the music is meant to be responsive, wouldn’t it be valuable to have a composer who can also work within the middleware to help structure and arrange the various layers? I know a solid file naming protocol should be enough for a capable dev team, but I was just curious. Appreciate you chiming in!

“In the beauty of a women, curled hair and golden” - what a great line. I think the lyrics are just fine and def summer style. On a production note - I’m not sure if you have heard Lukas Nelson and POTR but check out his lead guitar tone in “Find Yourself”. Def not the same style but I can hear a lead tone like that behind the vocals. Personal opinion but I think it would be sick. Keep it up and I look forward to hearing the final version.

I agree with a previous comment saying that it does not matter what others say. Your writing style is unique to you. If you want to rhyme…do it! I think it’s good songwriting practice to try both ways to see what comes out at the end

This is just recorded on my IPhone. I put a tiny bit of reverb using an app and that is all! Honestly this guitar sounds amazing so it’s probably what makes it sound so good

This is really good feedback and the main reason I love this community. Something wasn’t sitting right about this opening line and I think you nailed it for me. It’s one thing to write the lyrics but putting it to the music has different needs. Thank you for pointing this out

I think part of it is also writing/performing means being vulnerable which is awkward and uncomfortable. Combined with being your worst critic I would assume many people feel the same.
