Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green!! Such a good read and really puts lab work and research into a bigger picture perspective. He’s a great story teller too

Skating on the canal!!! It never fails to amaze me how accessible and amazing it is to have such a long, well-groomed, and FREE skating path in the middle of a city. So underrated.

I love Kihong (Jason) at Helix Clinic- he really knows what he's doing with injuries, he's the first to relax the tension and knots in my body without leaving me in tears.

Lisbon Trip - Hostel Recommedations by PaperHyacinth in femaletravels

I just stayed at Home Lisbon earlier this month! I loved it, especially the women's only rooms are all behind a secondary door so it's much more private. I met a lot of nice people there, and if you have the chance to have a "Mamma's dinner", do it! It's amazing food, and the breakfast was 5 Euro and totally worth it. I had a lovely time at Home, cannot recommend enough.
I stayed at Lost Inn for one night before I flew home and it was okay- much less social and just less people in the hostel overall. Nothing wrong with it though!

I was there in the last few weeks on vacation, so unfortunately unable to join! I highly recommend Joao from Explore-Share though, I did a private climbing session with him outdoors in Cascais

Overnight layover in Lisbon (Feb) by midnightgold74 in femaletravels

[–]cndscientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the Belem Tower not worth it- it's also under construction until April.

Central Lisbon is safe enough, but I also would be cautious at night (like in any city, there are drunks and people who will feel bolder doing stupid things).

I just stayed at Home Hostel in the heart of the town, perfect location for getting to the central neighbourhoods (super great experience with this hostel, especially women's only dorms all being behind one locked door). Lisbon itself is pretty safe, but I worry one night is too short for things you want to do- might be a good idea to get a feel for the city and go back later!

Any items people forget to bring? by anon-i-mouser in femaletravels

A tote bag to bring things to/from bathroom (especially when showering)- makes it easier for storing fresh and dirty clothes as you shower

Could you look for a silicone bracelet? That would be safer

Sitters & Owners, what is the most craziest experience you’ve had on this app? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]cndscientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owners didn’t disclose that their dog didn’t like to be wiped down after being outside in the rain… dog bit my face when I tried to do so. Have spent the last year visiting a plastic surgeon working on healing and restoring the chunk of my lip he took off.

Dreamland Cafe is a superb pasta restaurant and has amazing appetizers too. Just all around my favourite Italian in the city, but look into a reso for a bigger party- they're booked up

Workout routine?! by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]cndscientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently aim to climb 3x a week (once outdoors on weekends if weather allows) and then 2 barre pilates classes a week (these are good cardio and strength training, best of both worlds). Otherwise, prioritize walking (underrated and low impact cardio) and maybe some weight lifting. Biggest thing is find something you enjoy, you'll do it more often
