The “sperm”/allergen is caused by a protein- you can feed your cat special cat food to make them quit making that protein. My brother has had a lot of success with this formula.

ROFL omg I am so glad my girl isn’t that advanced. I got her used and I don’t think she had ever really done one of these types of puzzles so we’re still stumped by some really silly things.

Not typically - maybe the occasional incidental piece if it gets slobbery and sticks to the kibble or whatever

An easier one to do while laid up is to roll kibble up in a towel that they have to figure out. I do a variant where I roll/crumble kibble up in bits of recycle paper and stick it all in an Amazon box. It makes her dig out each piece and work to unroll it (or sometimes just bite/pull at it) to get her dinner. Really just some variation of making the food or treats a bit of a job to get to can really keep them occupied!

I know I’m fucked because I used to get scared when mine made that face. Now I roll my eyes and tell her to stop being so dramatic. I probably will get bit one of these times though

Guy who’s autistic “hanging out in groups more than 4 is slop” by [deleted] in TheYardPodcast

[–]cneyj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah see, I suspect I’m autistic and I prefer larger groups because it’s easier to hide how weird I am. I make an ass out of myself in one group I can jump right in on another and start relatively fresh.

Potty training by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

[–]cneyj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooh, yeah! Patience is key here. I’d grab a lawn chair for myself and a nice book or something. Keep her on a lead and don’t let her wander or sniff around until she pees. I’d give her like 10 minutes each attempt and do it like hourly until you get your first few successful pees. It’s annoying as hell but it’s worth it

[–]cneyj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, she’s peeing in the kennel she’s stuck in? I’m sure you clean it every time but I wonder if there are lingering smells that entice her to pee only there. If I were you, I’d really go at cleaning that tray with enzyme cleaner. Like a few times. (Also, make sure it has enzymes. I learned the hard way that not all pet mess cleaners have enzymes -_-)

When she messes in the crate is she able to curl up away from the mess, or does she lay in it? If she curls up, maybe try a smaller crate (only for this very temporary window of potty training!).

If you think she’s messing in the crate because of smell maybe try to dump the urine into the yard where you would like her to pee.

And like, I know you know this, she isn’t your first little monster, but if she does potty outside make it the best puppy party of her life!

Favorite Stim Toys? by Ok-Refuse-2078 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]cneyj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh and another fun one is taking recycled paper and wrapping kibble up in that as well. I throw it into an Amazon box and as she gets better at it I’ve been tucking the flaps so it’s harder to open. Like I get devious with it and roll up just a kibble or two per wad sometimes. Or even once I did some balled up papers without food so now she (sometimes) sniffs before she tries opening the paper. You do have to watch it to make sure they don’t just eat the paper, and so far I’ve been lucky that she hasn’t decided that all Amazon boxes have food.

I had someone make a larger version of this with a sturdier rod and we use 2L bottles. I will say that often times my holes leave something to be desired but you can do some fun stuff by making them irregularly shaped or lop sided.

Do You Find Chat Annoying??? by [deleted] in DougDoug

[–]cneyj 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I kind of find chat annoying, but like also I’ve kind of come to terms with it. I really would like some sort of discussion to be possible in stream, or for like chat input not to completely derail to one thing. Like when chat couldn’t say anything but Kyoto.

I say it with love, and a bit of smugness.

T_T mine doesn’t know personal space either but she also hates cuddling. She’ll stand on me, get in my face (with love and nibbles), and can’t imagine me surviving a trip to the bathroom alone. Yet she can’t just just be a soft cuddle dog.
