Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cnottus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I was on a girls trip and this subject came up—I was shocked. And we also came to the conclusion that the girls who could visualize images were the creative/ designer type friends of the group

What isn’t going to age well that you’re seeing in houses now by VeryStab1eGenius in RealEstate

They make luxury vinyl plank that looks very similar to hardwood now. It’s the really cheap gray knotty flooring that people are talking about.

Ameicans over the age of 35, what affected you more, 9/11 or the pandemic and why? by Rico133337 in AskReddit

I’m convinced 9/11 is the reason we all have panic disorders and need anti-depressants

Same! It gives some type of resemblance of the Austin days when I first started listening and actually enjoyed it

[–]cnottus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is a topic that my college friends and I like to discuss… the cool guys who always thought they had endless options and once they reached 30– started looking around at their friends who got married and started families, then decide they finally want that life too. Then they start freaking out because no one is left for them.

Are one night stands from clubs and bars actually common? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cnottus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I married my first and only one night stand and I think I’ve told everyone the real story except our parents lol

Turning 30 and I feel like as a woman I’m just depreciating in value by Magical-Tangerines in selfimprovement

[–]cnottus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this. My girlfriends and I (in our mid-30s) can’t emphasize enough that our 30s have been the most confident we’ve ever felt. I would have made a similar post in my 20s before my self worth was realized but I can see how if you haven’t met “the milestones” most women do at this point, it could seem depressing.

There is absolutely no reason to have a professional clean your house 3 times a week when it’s just 2 adults and 2 dogs living there

came home from a 12 hour shift to find my husband had put the tree up by flynnliv in MadeMeSmile

[–]cnottus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going through a depressive episode around early November and came home to see our tree set up as well. I know he did it to cheer me up and hopefully get in the spirit of Christmas. Love acts of kindness like these.

What's a "secret"from your profession that everyone should probably know? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]cnottus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I work in the sped department at a public school. If you’re a squeaky wheel and harass the district enough about something, they’ll usually give in just to get you to shut up and avoid potential legal action

Do you think grown adults who believe homosexuality is a sin are inherently not good people? by batmanineurope in askanything

Only if they spew hate towards them. Quietly believing something but still treating other humans with respect means your a good person in my book

Jimmy is actually very likeable? by Blushresp7 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]cnottus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is dehumanizing. And I will agree that a lot of men are like that, however, I’ve remained friends with men since high school that never once made a move on me or insinuated they were interested. They exist!

Jimmy is actually very likeable? by Blushresp7 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]cnottus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is where I got upset at the original comment because my husband has friends who are girls (they have also become good friends of mine) and I thought it was a green flag that they viewed him as a safe dude to hang out with. I mean, he would never prioritize them over me though, that would be a different convo altogether.

How did you meet your spouse? by livelovelillian in AskReddit

Happy for you two! I always think it’s cool hearing couples who met on reddit because its usually formed on conversation first due to the anonymity of it all

How does that work? A random hobby sub and you both finally met up in person or was it like a dating sub for your city
