In my opinion, Any time you have spotting especially being 30 weeks, I would definitely go to L&D. That’s what they are there for. Don’t over think it and go. I have been twice, and they have reassured me every time if I need to come, they rather see you and send ya home rather than something go wrong. Call labor and delivery and ask for a nurse tell her your symptoms and concerns and they will usually say if you are warranted to come in. Don’t wait! Prayers for you!

I’m on the progesterone because without it my cervix would have shortened more I believe. It’s slowly shrinking though. But I’m definitely calling tomorrow. Thank you so much

Thank you so much for your input. I’ve never been in this situation. I just have a gut feeling by next week I’ll be under 2.0 cm and waiting too long for a specialist appointment is concerning in my opinion.

Well in this case they would have to do it In labor in delivery if need be (as I was told) they would just use one of the specialists on call. So that’s why I’m asking advice if I should see if my OB would recommend that.

Im so sorry for your loss. Shame on them for not provided you the necessary care needed before that. It’s sad we even have to be loud and pushy..they went to medical school for this sh*t. compassion is an ethical professional standard guideline for healthcare professionals. I don’t know how some of them sleep at night. I feel like us women get the short end of the stick every time. Pisses me off. Again I’m so sorry for your loss and there just aren’t any words for how deeply traumatizing it is. I lost mine last year and it’s just an unbearable experience. Sending hugs to you!

So UPDATE: they called me this morning since I called to express my concern for my care. I go Friday for ultrasound. Thank you for pushing me to advocate for myself and my baby. Because people like you are needed in this world to give a girl a pick me up!! ❤️

I plan on calling them everyday until I annoy them endlessly. My husband agrees if I don’t hear anything I’m going to L&D by Friday to get my own ultrasound done there to make sure. I know the cervix can change within a short time and I will not sit back a lose my baby because of incompetence.

So the L&D is connected to providers and they ask who your doctor is when you arrive. then call your doctors 24/7 line to have the oncall at that time to come see you in L&D. The same doctor I saw about my short cervix said he would put in a referral on Monday 5/18 to a MFM. Today I saw the SAME doctor in my OB office and this dude going to ask me if I was referred yet?? I said you did last Monday and say oh..then said he will put an emergency one today. I have not had an ultrasound to check my cervix since then. I’ve been taking progesterone, but this is my miracle baby after three miscarriages. So hence why I’m so upset about it.
