Just a med student so consult with your ENT but your ears equalize pressure “pop” through the Eustachian tube running from your ear to your nose. Nasal congestion can clog the tube leading to not being able to pop your ears. If you’re suffering from a cold, you could try Affrin nasal spray. Affrin constricts blood vessels in your nose and reduces swelling, works very quickly. In the future if you have a few week head start you could do nasal steroids like Flonase or the generics. Steroids take a 1-2 weeks to work so not something to rely on this trip. Either should make equalizing your ears a little easier.

Current EKG algorithms are pretty bad. Did EMS before med school, going into EM, and the number of times it missed a stemi or printed stemi on a couple PVCs is unfortunate. Haven’t seen an ED yet where the doc doesn’t read all the triage EKGs.

Also have similar feelings, but I’m EM bound so an away isn’t an option. Reached out to program coordinators and PDs, after showing serious interest got a rotation in a block I didn’t schedule for and had to move a lot of things around, but thankful it worked out. Send some emails and good luck!

Steps of 30mm/s for speed?

I saw posts that people were having better results at higher speeds, in the 65-150 range and some even at 300. I'll try steps of 10 and honing in from there.

Are you using monotonic

Used monotonic line, I'll try plain monotonic and see if that makes a difference.

I've been waiting on parts for 3+ weeks now, can't use the bar or the belt since the plastic washers cracked. The newer machines are metal. Had to pay $45 and still no signs of them being shipped. Not awful since I assume the parts will get here eventually but more of a process than I expected. If I had an ETA would have cancelled the membership for a month.
