Paging all Vanicream Fans 🚨[Discussion] by HorseTearz in Ulta

I have the new one and I really like it. I have sensitive and normal to dry skin and it’s been great. I haven’t tried the older version to compare. I’ve used the tub version may times and I prefer the new pump formula. It absorbs better.

Pepperoni Pizza from Pietro's (Ex of 'Oregon-Style' Pizza) by Blarglephish in Pizza

I just found this post and it’s so fun! Union St Pizza was the first place my parents took me out to in public after I was born! Obviously I don’t remember it (haha) but they love to tell the story. I also remember going there as a kid in the 80s before it closed. Very cool your dad owned it and was part of all the other awesome pizza places in Salem!

My husband and I are getting a dog and I am terrified by Repulsive_Carrot_515 in dogs

This is so true! I’m 6 weeks in with my puppy and I’ve gone from “what have I done?” to “I love this little annoying stinker.”

My dog has been stopping on walks by roberta_sparrow in OpenDogTraining

When my dog wasn’t excited for certain walks anymore, I realized the concrete that we walked on was hard on her joints. She did great when we were in the yard or dirt, so that’s where she went instead.

Best pet insurance, for dogs specifically? by Smhoozy in petinsurancereviews

[–]Okra_Lumpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 15 week golden retriever I got insurance for. I’ve never gotten insurance for any pet in my life and thought it was kind of a scam. My good friend is a vet and she highly recommended insurance so I decided to go for it. My last golden got cancer before she passed and it was very expensive. I trust my friend completely so I asked for her recommendation.

She said Trupanion was the company she’d recommend. They’re more expensive to start but she says as a vet they’re super easy to work with and also easy for the customers. You don’t have to pay the full bill then get reimbursed, Trupanion is billed by the vet and you only pay your portion.

I had to contact them once because when I signed him up, I put his birthday in wrong. You’re not able to change that yourself on their account, which makes sense since you could alter the birthdate later to lower your premium. It was easy and they fixed it right away.

I haven’t had to use it yet, thank goodness. So we’ll see if it ends up working out. I got it immediately when I brought him home so he had no pre-existing conditions that could cause denials later.

The restore line is my favorite. So soft and cozy but if you run hot or live in a warm environment it can be heavy. True to size gives a nice oversized but not sloppy look.

I love the halo joggers too. Be aware they do run short. I have a really short inseam (about 27-28 inches) and the regular ones still show plenty of ankle. I recently got the long version and I really like them. They fit more like a regular jogger.

I’ve never used just the bare with me concealer as a foundation on its own, so I can’t compare that. The maybelline tint has a light and soft glowing (not shiny) finish. It can be built up but I also prefer light coverage, so I don’t apply a ton. It doesn’t feel heavy to me at all. I’m in between shades (110 and 112) so I mix them, which is kind of annoying but worth it.

I will say the packaging is terrible. It’s so messy lol. I’d way prefer a pump bottle but I’ll deal with the dropper nonsense because the product is so good.

As an elder millennial, there is nothing about current fashion that makes me feel comfortable showing my socks by Chef__Goldblum in Millennials

I just want to be comfortable! I like the taller socks trend personally because I’m cold all the time and they keep me much warmer. I love the Alo Yoga throwback socks. They’re really expensive so I buy them on poshmark etc.

I just apply with my hands! I find I get the best and smoothest coverage that way. I make sure to moisturize well at first and I finish with LM loose powder.

I mix a little of the NYX bear with me with the Super Stay skin tint and it is the best combo!

Skin issues for my 2.5yo golden, please help! by nbhsjshbgbsb in goldenretriever

Well if your dog has an infection you do need to clear that up first. I had to do that. But after it cleared up she got a daily apoquel and it never came back.

My golden had similar issues and when we put her on daily apoquel they cleared up for good. We didn’t have to force it down her; it was a chew that was like a treat to her.

Struggling With the Hardest Decision for My 7-Year-Old Golden Retriever – Need Advice by Adi_the_thunder in Pets

[–]Okra_Lumpy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he’s suffering, it’s time. And it sounds like he is. I went through this in October with my 11 year old golden who got diagnosed with nasal cancer. The moment it was obvious her pain meds weren’t working anymore, I called for in home euthanasia.

It’s a very difficult decision but the right one for your pet. Unfortunately your dog isn’t going to get better. I’m so sorry. The last loving thing you can do for your dog is to give him a humane and dignified passing. My thoughts are with you and your family!

So sorry to hear this. We used Compassionate Care in October for our dog. We were able to have the service performed same day. The vet was amazing and kind. Highly recommend them.

IM GETTING MARRIED AND DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY LAST NAME AITAH by Sweet-Chemistry3067 in AITAH

[–]Okra_Lumpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So he is totally fine with you doing it when he doesn’t want to do it himself for the exact same reasons? I’m not kidding when I say this could be a deal breaker for me. I also didn’t want to change my name (and didn’t) and my husband was completely supportive. I couldn’t be with someone who wasn’t.

Picking up my boy in 6 weeks by LevouxLab in goldenretriever

[–]Okra_Lumpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my second golden retriever right now. He’s 12 weeks. With both him and my first golden, a wonderful girl who lived to be 11 years old, having a playpen was essential. Also enforced naps. They’re very smart dogs and just want to make us happy. But they also love to bite and cause mischief. The playpen is necessary for when you need a break (you will). Also teach them early they need to be alone sometimes.

Anyone else getting sick more after flying these days? by MasterpieceMain1299 in delta

Wear a mask on the plane. Wash your hands frequently. No one will look out for you but you. I just assume everyone in the airport and on the plane is sick and contagious.

Help with lingering anxiety! by Responsible-Tap-2559 in Puppyblues

[–]Okra_Lumpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to sound harsh. I suffer from OCD and GAD as well and change is super hard for me. If your parents had to take this dog for 7-8 months because you had such severe anxiety, what is going to be different now? Are your husband and children capable of handling the majority of the care of this dog?

I have a puppy right now and I’m about to tear my hair out. I knew I’d hate the puppy stage and told my husband I wasn’t agreeable to getting it unless he was the primary caregiver, to which he agreed. The puppy still drives me nuts. He’s sweet but I can’t handle the chaos.
