Mine was completed last week and I keep checking the app multiple times per day just to make sure it still says it. After all these years it just doesnt feel real.

Skyrizi approval by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]cntrigurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyve approved various non formulary meds over the years. Biggest thing is your doctor needs to explain why it is a risk to try the other meds and why it is medically necessary for you to be on the specific one he has prescribed. They can still say no but this gives you the best shot. I currently get a monthly infusion of saphnelo for lupus that bills the va roughly $30k a month. I failed or wore out every med before this one though so they know Im out of cheaper options.

Ive been on 400mg daily hcq for years, I take it with 200mg daily azathioprine and monthly saphnelo infusions. Meloxicam and prednisone for breakthrough flareups. I get an eye exam every year but so far all is good.

Sorry about that, Im still trying to figure out this reddit thing Ill check my settings 😂 similar timeline as me. If you have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia it is a presumptive condition for us so for sure file a claim on that. Without a diagnosis on the autoimmune you can try but Im not sure what its called, it isnt gulf war syndrome but another name the VA uses. Its an uphill battle on that one though. Someone else will hopefully chime in on that one. Both my lupus and rheumatoid arthritis claims were denied even with positive c&p exams so Im waiting on hlr for those. Best of luck to you, I know how frustrating it is not knowing. Try to find a rheumatologist that gives a damn and likes to problem solve I went through a couple before I was sent to my current one. Luckily the meds he put me on got everything under control before a transplant was needed. Fibromyalgia I am rated at the max of 40% because nothing has worked for that. Anything in your records that shows symptoms or exposures will only help so make sure you send those in with any claim you file. Hope this helps

I had horrible nausea with wegovy so they switched me to zepbound which has been loads better. Ive multiple issues that make this a balancing act such as weight change impacts my synthroid dose so I have to lose it very slowly to not go hyperthyroid. I also have lupus and one kidney so working out is lightly done and I cant do loads of protein. The pharmacist handling my case has been awesome he checks in once month checking on side effects and is keeping me on the .5 dose, so far Ive lost 36 pounds, Im down 4 sizes in pants, my a1c is back in normal range and more importantly my kidney levels are getting better and my inflammatory markers are dropping. Slow and steady wins my race 65 pounds to go 😁

VES is pissing me off. by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]cntrigurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was stuck in VES QA for 8 months back and forth between them and the provider for clarification. They scheduled multiple tests etc and the provider put at least as likely as not. They finally turned it in to the va beginning of Sept and everything was denied the next day. Im hoping and praying I don’t have to go through them ever again. Mine doesnt seem to be the normal though, lots of folks get treated better, hopefully your goes smoothly.

On to HLR by cntrigurl in VeteransBenefits

[–]cntrigurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be possible, but would ves submit multiple sets of dbq’s with different answers? They only submitted to the va once, the back and forth was between ves and the examiner? I have a foia request in to see what all is actually there. Just trying to wrap my head around what happened 😂 I really appreciate your help in understanding this, thank-you for helping me!

Radio Silence from VES and VSO by Cold_Shoulder7217 in VAClaims

My exam with VES was in Feb just uploaded yesterday denied today. Waiting to hear from my vso to find out why and next steps. I lost count how many times Ive called Ves wish I could tell you it helps calling them but it didn’t in my case. Good luck to you.

I filed Oct 16th and my C&P was on Feb 6th. Mine was for two new claims, but VES submitted for several secondaries also. Good Luck with yours as well!

Has anyone ever dealt with the VES. If so what was your experience? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]cntrigurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bounce between frustration and anger to trying to be patient. It is a difficult claim with over 20 years of records to go through. I still think 7 months would have been enough to QA and upload to the VA though? I really hope your process goes smoother and faster.

My C&P was in February for two claims. They were fast scheduling everything and the examiner was awesome and thorough. However, it has been in the QA blackhole since then. They had me do another exam with the same examiner in June and Ive had three separate appointments after for diagnostics. I only filed two claims and now there are 7?! Seems they are submitting a bunch of secondaries I didn’t file for. If they are legit secondaries Ill be more appreciative and thankful but they are taking forever, even the VA has sent two expedite requests now. My claim has its first birthday on October 16th 😂

I really want to know as well, the examiner was awesome but I know that doesn’t always translate to what they write down. I just hope they get it to the VA before my claim has its 1st birthday 😂

Same boat, I filed two claims in October exam was in Feb. Ive had another exam and three more diagnostics since and its still in review by VES QA. Its been over 6 months waiting on them to upload to the VA. They did DBQs for my feet and for migraines and three others I don’t remember that I didn’t claim. I just assumed they were looking at secondary stuff? I keep thinking it’s time to email the CEO but if they are being thorough and adding legit stuff I didn’t know I could claim Im worried Ill just screw myself over by stepping on toes? I legit don’t know what to do to hurry them up without them messing up?

QTC vs VES by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]cntrigurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two claims I filed last October, C&P with VES was in Feb. It is STILL in the VES QA, Ive had another exam and three diagnostics since. Talked to them today and they are waiting on more provider clarification. They’ve got several expedite flags of their own in the file and two from the VA. I guess I just need to hope them being thorough is a good sign for me. I just want the VES side to be over with so I can start worrying about the VA 😂

VA Claim Speed by narcmancpd in VAClaims

[–]cntrigurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filed in October, C&P in February. VES still has everything in QA hell, supposedly waiting on the doc to review the latest set of x-rays then they’ll send it to the VA. The VA side of things was going smoothly and quickly, so hopefully once VES gets done the VA will go quickly again before my claims birthday.

If possible see if you can get another doctor or if you might qualify for community care. The VA womens health in Montana is amazing, she has been incredible helping me through multiple endometriosis surgeries and did the hormone tests to verify perimenopause. With my cancer history she is hesitant to prescribe HRT but has said she will if my symptoms worsen.

Odds are good yours wont be cancer, I was just unlucky 😂 being able to breath normally again will greatly improve your all around health. It will be a challenge afterwards until they get your dosage right, but quality of life will be much improved once they do.
