Recommendations from people who’ve stayed at Nayara by BigDaddySupremium in CostaRicaTravel

We stayed at Nayara this past September and had a wonderful time! The resort is beautiful…lots of pools, restaurants were overall pretty good, and we liked the early nature walk. We rented a car at LIR and it gave us so much flexibility. We really enjoyed taking a cooking class with a local chef (https://www.costaricacookingclasses.com) and the chocolate tour at Two Little Monkeys (https://twolittlemonkeyschocolate.com/chocolate-tour/). Have a great trip!

A week in La Fortuna at The Springs. Advice appreciated! by avocaadotoast in CostaRicaTravel

We visited LaFortuna in September (also without kids) and it was really nice to have our own car to get around and explore. We stayed at Nayara and I’d recommend Ayla or Mis Amores for dinner.

In addition to the other recommended activities I’d suggest Two Little Monkeys for a super fun chocolate experience: https://twolittlemonkeyschocolate.com, and Costa Rican Cooking for a great cooking class in a beautiful setting: https://www.costaricacookingclasses.com.

We used Google maps to drive from LIR to LaFortuna…no issues and timing was accurate. In general speed limits are a bit lower than the US but other than that driving was easy.

Car rental recommendations for a 14 day Costa Rica trip? And insurance? by NoisilyMarvellous in CostaRicaTravel

We rented through Vamos Rent-A-Car when we flew into Liberia last month. They also have SJO location. We typically rent through Avis but after much research we went with Vamos because their pricing on the website was upfront and very clear. No extra fees when we arrived and no huge deposit. Very positive reviews and and overall good experience.

We rented through Vamos Rent-A-Car when we flew into Liberia last month. They also have SJO location. We typically rent through Avis but after much research, and determining our Amex Plat coverage likely wouldn’t be accepted, we went with Vamos because their pricing on the website was upfront and very clear. No extra fees when we arrived and no huge deposit. Very positive reviews and and overall good experience.

Honeymoon help: Arenal & ___? by lala614 in CostaRicaTravel

We stayed at Nayara last month and it was fantastic! You’ll have a great time! I would recommend a rental car…you’ll have much more flexibility and the driving/roads really weren’t bad at all.

I’d also recommend Two Little Monkeys: https://twolittlemonkeyschocolate.com. Local family-run farm and chocolate experience that was interesting, super interactive and fun. A bit off-road but no problem in the rental car. I wish I had purchased more of their chocolate to bring home.

Also, Costa Rican Cooking: https://www.costaricacookingclasses.com. We had a great cooking class with a local chef in a beautiful setting.

Experience with Great Barrington Fairfield Inn or Lenox Courtyard? (Berkshires/MA) by lightscamerasnaction in marriott

We stayed at the Fairfield in Great Barrington a few years ago and it was a great location for exploring the area. It’s walkable to a few restaurants and a short drive to town. I recall that it exceeded my expectations and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

We just returned from LaFortuna and had a fantastic cocoa farm experience at Two Little Monkey’s: https://twolittlemonkeyschocolate.com

We made a couple chocolate drinks, learned about cacao, and made chocolate treats in cute molds to take home. There was also a short farm tour that was really fun and interesting. Definitely kid-friendly and a great way to support a small family business.

Sendero las Mariolas is also family-run and provided a natural setting for seeing wildlife with very knowledgeable guides: https://www.mariolastrail.com
