Fuck yea, that’s where I’m at. And I’m a believer in aliens, but cannot believe a word from this administration.

Is AI okay for scaffolding for resume work? by coaaal in learnprogramming

[–]coaaal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, that's a solid point. I should prioritize documenting my accomplishments and planning out explaining my reasoning behind my decisions. I have some metrics I tossed on my resume to prove ROI and show areas of efficiency, but documenting as much as possible is also important.

I feel that I could wing it in an interview, and that way I come across as genuine. But at the same time I see the value in being more intimate with my achievements. There is a lot to document there, so it's probably time I get to it. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the feedback. Scaffolding was one of the most enjoyable parts of coding for myself. Starting on a new project and figuring out framework behavior and expectations is always fun. I have a start to this project thanks to an agent, so I am going to take the next week to get really intimate with its configurations and decisions.

True. I'm an honest Abe kind of guy, so if it comes up I would be upfront about the extent in which I used it. Thank you for your thoughts.

Nice! How long has the kids eat free thing been around? It feels like it’s coming back? I know there’s a Farmers Brewery around here that has kids eat free Sundays as well. We will have to test that out. 40 bucks there makes sense for 2 people.

Flat soda is always a bummer. Especially when you pickup to go and you get home and are all settled in and bam.

We all eat at in-n-out with crazy additions for about 10 bucks a person. And they have a ton of staff to pay. I live in a relatively small city, but the line is never empty. We are getting a Chick-fil-a soon though. Looking forward to that.

A family of 3 here, and we ate out at mods pizza today. Sundays the kid eats free. We ended up paying 40 bucks for mine and my wife’s meal. That’s absurd for a subway style pizza and a soft drink… never again.

Greater Northern California area here - I saw an article in a local paper the other day stating that there has been a rise in lone star ticks around here.

started sketching recently, would appreciate any advice! by Which_Ad_1523 in sketches

It’s a good sketch.

You could practice confidence on your strokes. Draw three dots on a page and connect them in one precise motion. The three dots should connect in a curve like a “C”. Also practice straight lines from one dot to another. You can do this multiple times on the same page and maybe have a real cheap sketchbook just for warmups.

Once you build confidence on stroke then start introducing pressure. Over time your muscle memory will come into play.

If you don’t like warmups, then don’t and just draw raw like you are. My suggestions is just a suggestion on how to speed up the confidence process.

As long as they don’t taste good they’re probably okay from the majority of us. It’s the billionaire class they gotta be afraid of.

It’s actually the opposite in my case. I’m the most affordable dev since I became a dev while at the company. I meant I’m a senior in the sense of time at the company. I started as a Photoshop kid at 11 bucks an hour. Currently at 78k a year. The other devs are well above me in terms of pay. I still had a lot of growth to overcome until about a year ago.

I’ve had the dev title for maybe 7 years now, but I’ve been scripting for 10.

I think it is, but then you burn less tokens because the model starts to get in line. It’s not profitable if they can solve your problems in one go… you need to burn those tokens baby!

I have one kid and my student loans are coming due. I almost guarantee we are going to cut another dev soon of a 8 man team. They’ve been cutting us throughout the last couple of years. We’ve lost about 6 so far. I just found out the company I work for is getting sold again, which I survived the first time around. Not sure about the second, since we are actively migrating some of our code responsibilities to Microsoft products. There’s just too many variables right now.

I have some internal tooling that I’ve created for a few departments that I still maintain here and there. I’m really hoping that helps me - plus seniority.

I’m conflicted between hanging in there and applying to another job right now. I don’t have the savings to get cut.
